 + -1 moreMr. Dealy sanded the cabinets and took the fronts to his shop to finish. When he brought the doors back, I remarked that the top edges, which were the only problem areas that needed attention, looked like they had a very thin finish. He assured me that this re-finish was going to fix the problem, but if I had any problems, he would return and correct them. Within 6 months, the cabinet finishes began to wear, especially on the edges, and I started calling. After repeated calls, he came to inspect them. He said he would return to re-do the kitchen base cabinets. He was very defensive about the horrible condition of the bath base cabinets. They look just as bad as they did before I hired him. He even accused me of pouring something caustic on the cabinets! I am retired and I live alone, and I was indignant. He finally agreed to re-do all the cabinets. To date, I have called 7 times, and he never responded. I feel as though I was robbed.
Description of Work: Mr. Dealy was hired to refinish the worn kitchen and master bath wood cabinets. The initial damage was to the tops of all the base cabinets, but he assured me that all the cabinets had to be sanded and refinished to match. He was very confident and said that the cabinets had not been varnished correctly or they would not be so unsightly in such a short time. He guaranteed that he would do a correct and professional job and that the cabinets would be "as good as new". He said he would refinish the top edges very carefully, and they would not wear down to the then unsightly condition. I had considered replacements, but after he assured me that the finish would be done so much better than before, I hired him to refinish them.
