I have an audible leak that can be heard in the master bedroom. I called Harris on Monday, they said they would try to get to me Monday but weren't able to because of work order load. Understandable. Someone finally made it out on Wednesday. This person replaced a flapper in the tank claiming it was faulty flapper that was causing the toilet to drip into the sewer line which is the noise I've been hearing. He also replaced a leaky water line to the toilet. This person was at my house for less than 30 minutes and charged me for 2 hours of service and $30 in parts. The flapper wasn't the problem and if he would have turned the water back on and actually flushed the toilet he would have realized that he caused more problems and didn't fix the original issue.
When I got home from work to look at what was done, turned the water on to flush the toilet, the toilet handle stuck, the new flapper wasn't working properly causing a new dripping sound and the tank to have to refill itself periodically. The water line was good. The original leak that I called about was not fixed. The flapper wasn't the problem. I feel if this person would have turned the water back and tested out his work he would have heard the original leak and seen the installation of the tank kit wasn't working properly. I called back the next day to see if this could be amended. I felt I was outrageously over charged for something I could have done myself for less than $20! They said they would be out that day but never showed up. I did have a message on my office phone the next morning from a phone call at 8pm the previous evening that said they couldn't make it out to my house. They had my cell phone number, my sister's cell phone number and they could have called much earlier.
I am now out $200 and still have the existing problem. I corrected the problem with new tank kit and flapper myself. I will not use them again nor will I recommend them. Also, they promptly cashed my check the next day without checking to see if the problem was corrected.
