I show in our system where we did have your services set up on an every other month basis, and for various reasons noted in our software, the service was cancelled or rescheduled by client request. "Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I would have hoped that you would have called and asked for management if you felt you were not getting the quality service we strive to offer. Our scheduler did note your appointment to inform the technician where you were seeing the ants, as well as, later, noted your account that she tried to correct the charges and only charge you for the outside perimeter service and discount the inside price since you felt you were unhappy with the service. The notes state that you insisted on paying the full amount. She discounted the inside service anyway and it left you a $30 credit on your account, which will be refunded to you today. As for cancelling your 'service contract', I'd like to remind you that while we offer regular services, we do not lock anyone into contracts or long term agreements. For many reasons, but especially for reasons similar to yours. This way we can change up service frequency, to help get certain seasonal pest issues under control. As for the technician wanting to spray the inside again, the reasoning would be that our products are designed to be undetected by ants. They are social insects that feed each other, groom and care for the queen. They pick up the product and take it back to the colony, which kills them off at the colony level. Ants use pheromone trails to let other ants know where 'the good stuff' is, if we were to use a kill on contact, there's nothing stopping the ants that follow in the days or weeks to come. Many over the counter products are a 'kill on contact' type product. Occasionally you can get good results, but we find that many clients who use these products end up calling us out later to take care of the recurring ant issues they tend to have in the spring and fall. The technician was doing as his ongoing education has taught him, by making sure the inside was treated with a residual product, which would take care of any ants you may encounter days or weeks later. With regular services and good client communication, we have had great success getting control of ants in many structures. Ants can be quite difficult to control, especially during these very wet springs, and doubly so following such a mild winter. Ants are subterranean, and although they are being seen in one room of the house, they may be entering the home from the opposite side of the structure. Regardless of who you use in the future, I would definitely suggest staying with a monthly outside perimeter service, even during the winter months. Our clients who do this find that the ant issues are easier to get under control during the spring months. I would also suggest that you do not use over the counter products in conjunction with what a professional treats with, as many times the products can work against each other. As for 'pouring a gallon or more over the floors and baseboards', I would highly suggest against that. Not only does a 'little product go a long way', it is for your safety that the makers of these products list the amount to use on their labels. Thank you again for your honest review. I will definitely be making some changes to our invoicing, and adding some verbiage to aide in educating clients more about ants, what they can do to help the situation, and things they might avoid doing that will negatively affect our services."
