Quote provided was reasonable. Due to the ratings on BBB and the number of years experience, I hired Tom. The workers were pleasant, quick and seem to know what they were doing. However, several days after completion, the siding started pulling away from the side of the house. I notified Tom. He sent a worker back to fix it, but they couldn't because there wasn't anything to nail to. Their only solution was nothing more than a temporary fix, which wouldn't look right . It was the "house's" fault. After that meeting, they never called me back. I didn't have confidence with their ability or willingness to do the job correctly, so I decided to cut my losses. The only part of the job that went well was the painting. The painter was a hard worker and did a good job. I finally found a trustworthy, quality handyman to fix the siding properly (and repaint ), which was a costly experience for me.. but a lesson learned. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Tom Hanlon Construction.

I made arrangements for them to be in my house on a Friday, The promise was that the work would be finished when I got home at 5:00p that day. On arriving home a found a workman reading directions to install the dishwasher. No work had been accomplished except removing the old dishwasher. I was going out of town that night but made a arrangements for them to finish the work on the following day. When I came home Saturday night the dishwasher was installed but it was sticking out 4", the garbage disposal was installed but not wired up, and the faucet was installed incorrectly (instead of having 120 degree swing over the sink it was installed sideways making it to swing over half the sink and to the back of the sink. I received a call on Sunday from Tom (the owner) that he wasn't going to come by on Sunday for payment but would try to on Monday. I told him that I was unhappy with the work and he decided to come over on Sunday after all. He fixed the dishwasher so that it would sit back into the counter. Regarding the sink he said that they would fix the swing of the faucet if I really wanted them too (who wouldn't?) He tried to test the garbage disposal by crossing two of the exposed electrical wires which caused a large spark (later I found that he had fried all my surge protectors to my entertainment and computer systems - cost me $120 to replace) but didn't turn on the disposal, and charged me $75 to wire up the cooktop that had not been part of the original request. At that point I just wanted him out of my house so I paid the $425 knowing I'd have to hire someone else to come in and finish the work. Tom then called the next day and requested another $75 because he had undercharged me on the dishwasher! Totally frustrating - I think the thing that bothered me the most out of the experience was that the workman and owner mocked me on all my equipment purchases and the price I had paid for them saying that if I had purchased it from them it would be cheaper and then proceeded to look at areas of my house and suggest how he could fix, adjust, replace etc everything. I will say I could trust them to be in my home without being there but I would never use them again.
Description of Work: I requested that a new dishwasher be installed (they would haul off the old one), a new garbage disposal, and a new faucet. They also wired up a cooktop although I had not requested it (and charged me for it)
