Richard Selsor came out and gave an estimate. He is a very pleasant guy to talk to. I got 3 more estimates. Selsor was exactly $1000.00 more ($2680) than the RM Remodeling by Robby Mason was $1680. I felt that this guy was maybe too busy (for himself). He also had a different way to lay sections of tile that would have posed a lot of extra work on my part. Geoff with Power Tools Home Improvement at $1470. That included $100 extra work that the other bids didn't include. The lowest bid was not on Angie's List at $1100. I didn't feel good about their approach or professionalism. I chose Geoff with Power Tools Home Improvement and graded them with a and quot;Band quot;. My report to follow soon. One thing I have found about most contractors is that their main concern is to get you satisfied enough to get paid. Below are 10 good rules to follow when dealing with tile contractors. You may think of more. 1) ALWAYS CHECK ANGIE'S LIST AND PICK MOST OR ALL OF YOUR BIDS FROM THERE. 2) ALWAYS GET A WRITTEN QUOTE. Words mean nothing now days. 3) NEVER PAY UNTIL JOB IS COMPLETED. Some contractors seem to get lazy and take short cuts(especially on Friday or Saturday) if you pay sooner. Holding payment until they're finished gives you leverage for a good job. 4) MAKE SURE THE CONTRACTOR UNDERSTANDS THAT HE IS TO LAY THE TILE EVENLY. If you have any high or low floor spots, make sure your bid includes leveling if needed. 5) A TILE THAT IS NOT REASONABLY EVEN WITH ONES AROUND IT SHOULD BE REPLACED. You don't want someone to trip due to a high corner. 6) IF YOU ARE SUPPLYING THE TILE, DEFECT OR CHIPPED TILES SHOULD BE USED IN PLACE OF THOSE TO BE CUT. If you are supplying the tile for the job make sure the contractor is made aware of using these. You will end up with fewer bad pieces. 7) Have an agreement if tile is going to be against or under door frame and trim. When tile is ran up against door trim it can be ugly and can be difficult to replace. If cutting door trim is required to slide tile under, make sure to inspect the work for proper clearance. All floor base trim should be removed prior to starting job. 8) Advise the contractor of everything you expect from a list that you have previously made prior to accepting their bid. 9) If needed, have contractor come out a second time and look at anything that was not covered previously. 10) Everyone is usually happy when there are no surprises.

I called them and they came right out with an estimate. After I accepted, they came out when they said they would and they did a great job. I had a really small job but I could tell they really knew what they were doing. They are going to be doing some other remodeling for us as well. Great guys!

Selsor remodeling did an outstanding job! Richard, the owner, met me at my convienence to provide an estimate and once the weather cooperated was on site and completed the work. The work was completed in one day, other contractors had estimated at least two, and everything was clean and back in place when they left. I will be hiring them again this spring to paint the house. I highly recommend them!

They charged me under $300. It was a minor job. They were quick and they did a good job. They were also very courteous. I will use them again in the future.

I have absolutely no complaints on Richard Selsor's company. I still have some other things I want to get done and I do intend to choose the Selsor company to do it. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: The first time I used the Selsor company was to enclose a front porch and install insulated windows in it. Richard Selsor, the owner came out to make an estimate and when I told him I would appreciate his suggestions, he helped me decide what to do. He did the work and it was perfect and his suggestions made all the difference. I had neighbors I don't even know stop by to tell me how good it looks. I then had him make an estimate on updating my kitchen. He would have done anything I wanted done but I wasn't sure so I asked for his suggestions again. Once again, his suggestions were great. When he gives his opinion he gives reasons, prices, value to the home, alternatives, brings samples for you to see, etc. He started by putting new tile in kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and a half bath. He helped me decide on the type of tile and the color, and it worked out perfectly. It looks great and the workmanship was excellant. I then had him work with me on installing new granite countertops in the kitchen and with his suggestion, using beadboard (which I had not even heard of), along with installing a new gas stove, moving the dryer vent from the garage to go up through the ceiling, changing the exhaust vent in another bathroom to update that. When he is here he has made other suggestions on ways to improve my home. The work is perfect and Richard and any of the ones he has sent to help have always been great.

we had a break in at our home in which the front door was kicked in. We decided, since we were going to have to purchase a new door, that we would buy a complete door with sidelights as our old sidelights were only single pane. We had our windows replaced by Thermal Windows several years ago and decided to use them in purchasing a new thermatru door w/sidelights. When they measured the opening, we discovered that the opening was not a standard size, so we were going to have to reframe the opening. The Thermal saleswoman suggested Richard as he had performed this kind of work for them before. Richard was very prompt in coming out for the estimate and he suggested that instead of just framing the opening, that he do the installation as well to save time. We agreed and the day after Thermal delivered the door, he was there to do the work. The only thing that was required of us was the paint color selection which we made. Upon his arrival with his crew, it was very evident that he took the time to be clean and protected all non-work surfaces. The framing, installation, and painting took all day (8hrs), and when they were done it was beautiful. I would definately use him again and plan to on other projects we need done.
Description of Work: Reframe front door opening and install new door and sidelights. Included painting.
