I'm not sure what they used to pre or post treat, but it gave me a such a headache! I'm self-employed and work from a home office. Even after throwing all the windows open in the dead of winter, I was unable to work from home for two days because of the headache and throat irritation due to the chemicals used on the carpet. I partially lost my voice at one point.
Shortly afterwards, we put our house on the market. After our first showing, the feedback we received was that our carpets were ABSOLUTELY FILTHY, especially in the high traffic areas...the very areas that I had pointed out to our cleaning technician. Desperate, I bought a $4 bottle of Spot Shot and saturated the areas of concern. Wow! I got up so much filth it turned my towel BLACK. I spot checked other areas and again, got up black filth.
I called ProSteamers that afternoon and left a voicemail as it was then that my concerns with the cleanliness of the carpets
was brought to light. As I said, I left a voicemail. We continued to play phone tag as they do not answer their phones. Today, when I finally was able to speak with a company representative, I explained that I was willing to be out the $$ from Groupon & the pre/post stain treatments I purchased (even though I was suckered into purchasing something that didn't work) , but I'd like
the completely UNUSED $150 three extra cleaning packages that I purchased, refunded since I wouldn't use them, nor would I recommend ProSteamers to ANYONE in the future. I was told that a refund of any kind was not an option because unbeknowst to me, there was a 10 day refund period, but that I could give the package to friends or family as gifts. Again, I wouldn't recommend them to my friends or family ever. As of now, none of my friends, family, or my Realtor would take said package after seeing what was or shall I say wasn't done to my carpets.
To correct the problem with the initial cleaning they are coming back and cleaning again at no charge, however, I am reluctant as it should have been correctly the first time and I am not looking forward to further headaches or illness.
I still believe the I should be refunded the completely UNUSED $150 three additional cleaning package as their initial service was worse than the $4 bottle of Spot Shot from Wal-Mart and the subsequent customer service has been less than pleasant.
The technician (Michael) was on time as promised. He was a young man who impressed me with this professionalism, courtesy, and respect for our property. He took great care to not damage anything in our home and was a pleasure to have work on site. I think he is a good asset to the company because his social skills and customer service is excellent plus he seemed very intelligent and hard working, which is not usually found with young employees. Hopefully, the company will recognize this and promote him above his peers.
The ONLY suggestion that I can offer to Michael is that with future jobs, he take a few moments before starting work to explain exactly what he will be doing and how it works. I did question him at the conclusion of his work and he promptly answered to explain how the techniques work BUT it'd be helpful, as a consumer, to receive that info in the beginning. He did a very good job, in my opinion, and this negative comment is only meant as an improvement critique. I'm very pleased with how our technician performed.
