Hard Rock Designs Specialist

Hard Rock was started around the middle of September by an employee of a company that quit/left business. The new owner kept the original quote for the Enviroglas. My decorator said the owner wanted a deposit for $9,800 (1/2 of the cost of the total job), which we paid in September and was supposed to get the material in to the shop. Per the quote, we then gave her another $3,050 for "additional material for lamination" on October 20, 2009. My decorator started getting bad feelings around Thanksgiving when the owner started giving her strange answers. Right after New Years, 2010, my decorator went to her shop and demanded to see invoices and the material that she ordered. She said the material was in the Oklahoma City area being finished. While she was waiting for answers at her shop, my decorator called the manufacturer of Enviroglas in Texas. They said that the owner made initial contact with them but never bought any material from them or any of their distributors. She also found out that the shop in the Oklahoma City area made a similar product out of portland cement, making the counter tops much thicker than we wanted. We even have a video that was shown on an OKC television channel showing the fabricator making our exact tops! Even though they weren't the tops that we ordered, we told the owner that we would pay $2000.00 for the two counter tops that we received and to cover the plumber that installed the sinks on top of them. She refuses my calls and will occasionally respond to a text message. The last contact that I had with her was January 11, 2010, when she told me that she was at the bank and would be by with the money ($10,800)for the rest of the uncompleted counter tops later on that morning. She still hasn't showed up! I have to admit that the product that I received looks like the product that I ordered, but it is 3 times thicker than we designed the counter tops for. That is why I gave the quality rating of "c" - good for what it was, but not what I ordered.
