I had a horrible experience with Assurance Overhead Doors after making the mistake of not reading all the negative reviews. I am therefore writing this to hope to help others avoid such a hassle. Briefly: AOD threatened to remove installed equipment because we were not available to take their call during a meeting, and then would not answer our calls. Full Story: We have a rental property where we needed a garage door motor installed. We opted for the emailed invoice option to pay because we would not be on site. We were not able to answer the phone to pay for the service while the technician was still on site because we were in a meeting. When we came out of the meeting, we found that they'd sent text messages threatening to remove the garage door that they'd installed in 10 minutes if they didn't hear from us! We paid online promptly after the meeting, and called to speak to the management about the threatening message. Management would not answer the phone to explain themselves, but were quick to respond to a negative Google review that we posted with distortions of the facts (this is when I saw that they routinely wrote counter-accusations against other negative reviews). We have been renting the property and others for years and have worked with several companies for service, we have never had a problem like this, never been late on payment for service, and never had a company refuse to speak with us after being paid. I recommend avoiding Assurance Overhead Doors.

Showed up within 1 hour after calling. Dispatcher was knowledgeable and explained everything before setting appointment. Technician was patient and professional. He Replaced 2 overhead door springs and a frayed cable.

So glad I did not rate this company when the original work was done. 6/2/14 The technician installed a garage door opener but it was awfully noisy. Couldn't even stand being in the garage when it operated. Thought it was because it was a cheaper model. 12/1/15 or 12/2/15 (1.5 yrs later) After several days (weeks?) of problems, door finally wouldn't work anymore. Called Assurance again. The guy (who was patient but not friendly) diagnosed that the opener had a bad electronics board. I thought this sounded questionable and made that known. But the guy said that it would cost about $300 to replace it. [I will give them that warranty was out of date at the time.] But I was still very unhappy since it was about what I had spent to have the opener originally installed ($355.87). Thought they should have given me at least a discount. Wanted a second opinion. [12/2/15] Called another company. This guy pointed out that the door opener mounting screws had never been completely tightened during the original installation ... which caused the door to be very shaky, jerky, and noisy when operating. He also readjusted chain tension, lubed the door joints, etc. Now the opener operated fine and was a WHOLE LOT QUIETER! See my Superior Overhead Doors review ... cost $105.] Footnote: Door started acting up again around June 16 2016. But I just manually disconnected the opener and allowed the chain tension to readjust itself when it reconnected. Worked fine again. Either the opener is not a great product or all the previous extra shaking may have damaged the mechanism, chain, or whatever. As far as the ratings for this company are concerned, I'm going to give them the benefit of a big doubt: whether their 2nd technician was just not good at diagnosing garage door opener problems (C for Quality) as opposed to trying to take advantage of an elderly woman. But there was no mistaking that the original installing technician did not do a good job. So I was not pleased with either technician from this company. The "C" for Price covers both visits from their technician (the original $355 and the incorrect repair estimation of approx. $300).

Wow!  From the first call until the job was completed, Assurance delivered SUPERIOR customer service!  I had called 4 local companies to get estimates and find out what type of opener's they installed.  Hands down, Assurance was the most professional, courteous, &  informative. Everything Assurance promised, they delivered plus more.  Luke gave me all the pertinent information regarding the Liftmaster opener I chose. He patiently answered my questions.  He quoted a price to me that included a manufacturer's rebate.  Scheduling was simple, I made a next day appointment.  The technician was on time and called me 30 minutes prior to arriving which I greatly appreciated.   Mark listened to my questions, he answered them all and did a perfect installation!  He also took the time to explain all of the safety and technical features of my new Liftmaster opener.  He made sure my remotes and keypads were correctly programmed.  We also tested the safety features.  It was evident that Mark respected his customer, knew the product, and was the utmost professional.  The invoice amount was the same amount I was quoted when I originally called Assurance.  Needless to say, I was very impressed with Assurance.  I will be referring Assurance to all of my clients. If you want customer service that will blow you away--call Assurance!

Well Thursday afternoon my wife calls me at work and tells me something is wrong with our garage door.  And since her car was stuck in the garage, I told her to call someone to see if the can come out and fix it.  First she called Assurance, and was told that they could come out in the morning. Then she called another company that was about $20 cheaper.  My wife tried to make an appointment, she was told that they would just call her when they were in the area.  Really?? So we were suppose to hang around all day for a call.  So we went with Assurance Overhead Doors.  Next Morning got a call from Assurance, and Mark said that he could get me in earlier than our appointed time.  When Mark showed up he gave me a run down of what was needed and went straight to work. I didn't keep track of time, but it was least 35-40 minutes and he was done.  Installed the springs.  I went with 2 instead of the 1.  Lubed all the rollers and joints.  Made adjustment to the garage door as it closes.  Also made sure everything was in good working order.  I can't say enough about how Mark went straight to work and had no problems answering any of questions that I had.  If I have any garage door issues or have to recommend a company, Assurance Overhead Doors with be the go to garage door company for me.

Contacted the main number and was scheduled for that afternoon. They were responsive and quick to get us scheduled. They informed me that a technician would call once they were on the way. Mark, our technician, called and gave us about a 15 minute window. He arrived on time and worked quickly replacing both our broken spring as well as the old one on the other side. Entire process took about 20 minutes and he was very professional. We were very pleased with the service and speed!

Great customer service! The repair work was completed well. He also explained how to keep our door maintained and running.

Mark was the repairman and he was both punctual and professional. Didn't try to sell us something that we didn't want and made the repairs quickly.

After calling for an estimate , someone called me back right away. Around 7:30am the next morning the repairman arrived and looked at the door and said he had the crews back at the shop insulating a door already and I agreed on the price and he left to go get the door ready, returned promptly within 2 hours and removed the old door and hardware. Installed the new door and tested it, hooked it back up to our automatic opener. Service was outstanding, professional. Clean up was great, only a handful of screws/bolts found on ground and in driveway from old door. Installation went so fast I cant complain. This was an emergency after our son backed into the door earlier in the day. Could not get anyone else from any other companies out within same time frame. Wished the door was better quality and heavier but at least its in place, about right for the price, but again it was urgent and no time to shop around with house and garage wide open.

They were great. The customer service and response was good. We felt that they were honest. There were no surprises on the price.

The installer was on time, very professional, explained how to program the system, was very patient and very courteous. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

My garage door opener would close my door within one foot then open it again automatically. Very frustrating. I phoned ASSURANCE OVERHEAD DOORS and made an appointment for them to come the next day. They phoned in advance to give me the service techs name. The tech ALSO PHONED a few minutes before his appointment to tell me he was coming. He arrived on time and did a thorough inspection explaining everything as he went. He gave me an estimate of repair costs. I ok'd them and he did the work immediately. He was very professional and made me feel secure about him being there. I would definitely recommend them.

I had a broken spring on my garage door opener, and was unable to free the latch and raise the door. The person answering the phone explained how I could open the door to remove my car and dash off if I needed to be somewhere. He volunteered that I could call back later to schedule repair if I needed to be somewhere else. I didn't and I scheduled the repairs for a few hours later. Service person arrived promptly, performed the repair in quick order and we were all back on track. The cost seemed reasonable.
