"The particular instrument was a Silvertone model 1457 that had been poorly repaired previously. The work included refinishing the neck, leveling, re-crowning and polishing frets. It was brought to my shop in pieces which were then cleaned and reassembled, re-strung and set-up for playability. The neck was refinished to the point that the headstock decal would have been applied before clear coating the metal flake. Since the cost of the decal exceeded the available budget, further restoration was declined. He has not complained to me personally and did not indicate any displeasure when he received a beautifully restored model 1457 Silvertone. All of my clients are welcome to have an instrument meet their expectations."
