We found Dr. Redden during a crisis with our 10 year old beagle basset Rudy.  He developed bleeding from his nose one morning and when we tried to get into our vet he was not available.  We took him to ER over on Memorial by Sam's and as we are standing there with our sweet baby bleeding we are told "it may be awhile as they have to make rounds before they can see him".  A friend gave me Dr. Redden's number and when we called she told us to bring him to her now.   My first interaction with her was amazing.  She did not just take my dog and go to the back.  She took me back with him and walked me through everything she was doing. This lady was born to be a vet and has the bedside manner to go with it.  We learned our sweet Rudy had osteosarcoma and he did pass away on 9-11-2014.  Dr. Redden is an excellent vet and she does really care about the animal.  I would recommend her to anyone.

We are very happy with them. It is one veterinarian, Emily Bredin and she is just really I think an exceptional vet. We have had animals all of our lives and lived in lots of different states, she is just in comparison to other vets we've had she's exceptional. She reminds me of Dr. Doo Little. The animals just follow her around and she is very sensitive to not just the pet, the pet owners. She has a way with people and dogs.

The surgery itself went well but when we got him home we noticed some strange behavior. He was not eating, drinking and was very nervous/pacing around quite a bit. We called the vet 3-4 times and everytime were told this was normal and not to worry. We even asked if we should bring him in, they said no he will be fine. In hindsight it appeared they were very busy and didn't want to deal with us. We finally decided to take him to a emergency vet and turns out he had bloat. They did emergency surgery on him but by that time it was too late. We watched our precious dog die in front of our eyes and did not even realize it. To top it off, we went in to talk to our vet about a week later and were put off by them. We sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes before we finally left. Seemed like they were avoiding us. I am just now joining Angie's list or else I would have put this review up much sooner. Please Please never go to this vet. I would not trust them at all!

We picked up our 8 month old Havenese puppy today after he boarded for three days. He was happy, clean and playful when we arrived. After we brought him home he got back into his routine immediately and showed no stress whatsoever from the experience. He is a sensitive little dude so we knew he was loved and cared for during his stay. Everything was handled in a professional and friendly manner by all the staff we interacted on phone and in person. So relieved to find a great place for our dog to visit when we cannot take him with us on trips.

I pretty much explained it previously. I might just add that her whole staff is wonderful.

As an introductory note: We've been taking our "furry children" to Council Veterinary Hospital for about 4 years. We have other vets closer, but choose to drive the extra 20 minutes to have Dr. Redden and her staff treat our "kids". It's a family-oriented clinic, where the owners are encouraged to be as involved in the treatment as they want to be. Our dogs are always greeted by name, and addressed by name throughout their visits. For this particular appointment, we brought in all 3 dogs at the same time, and took turns cycling them through the various stages of the exams, bloodwork and vaccinations. The dogs were kept all together, off-leash, in a larger room, and I was allowed to stay with them, which greatly decreased their stress over being there (and also mine, since I could see what was happening, and help if one of the dogs needed some calming to make things go easier for everyone). The technicians handled the dogs efficiently and kindly. Dr. Redden took the time, as she always does, to personally explain the results of each dog's examination, and ensure we understood any follow-up action required on our part. I was very satisfied that our dogs received comprehensive, quality, reasonably priced care, in a loving environment.

One of our dogs had tangled himself in barbed wire and had several gashes/puncture wound. They worked us in between appointments, treated the dog, and got us out efficiently and effectively. This rating is just the latest in our experience with Council Road Vet Hospital. It is our regular vet, and we have always had friendly, excellent service.

My dog loves this place and we're frequent customers. If there is one thing I am unhappy about is the length of time the check-in and check-out process takes. Also, it seems that the face at the front desk changes far too often. If it weren't for those factors they would get all A's. Overall they do get an A because of the overall good service we've received over the years.

Council Veterinary Hospital does a very good job. She seems to like it there, and that's the most important. They are very caring and they take time with her.

I'll tell you how much my dog likes Council Veterinary Hospital: If you were to stick your finger in his face at my house, he would bite it off. At the hospital, he is as friendly as can be. It's a nice, little operation. They take great care of my pets.
