BERNICE SANITATION

I had a big clean out job. I had been in contact with Connie at Bernice Sanitation for 3-4 WEEKS prior to the starting of this job in regards to renting a dumpster. I had numerous conversations with Connie about the different sizes of dumpsters and what materials can go in and what are considered hazardous materials. I was also given the dimensions of the various dumpsters, this being very important because the community in which this job was located required that it had to fit in the small driveway. I decided at first to go with a 20yd dumpster, set a date for it to be delivered and gave Connie my debit card info. After talking with the neighbors and some of them taking some of the wood items and further assessing th driveway I decided to call Connie back and get an 8yd dumpster even if I had to pay to have it emptied a couple of times. Connie told me that was ok, she told me the driver would call me the morning of the delivery date to verify the address. D day arrives, I go out to do this job,no call, no dumpster I decide to call Connie at Bernice Sanitation. Connie informs me that she had made a mistake and that they don't deliver 8yd dumpsters to the location because they wouldn't make any money off of it. That I would have to rent a 30yd dumpster and they didn't have anyone who could deliver it that day. I was utterly shocked and screwed at that moment. After voicing my feelings about having this set for 3wks and how I needed to get the job done that weekend and what was I suppose to do and why no one at Bernice Sanitation had the consideration to call me in advance to? Connie advises me to rent a Uhaul to load the trash in and haul it to the dump and that it would cost about the same as a dumpster. I was speechless. Bottom line even if you make a mistake and have to take a loss, take care of your customers and they will take care of you. Thankfully I was able to pay some of the nieghbors to load up truckloads and haul off the debris. It tripled my work load by having to bag everything but I got it done and no thanks to Bernice Sanitation.
