The project was a complete disaster from start to finish. It was supposed to last two weeks but ended up lasting three months. We had old brick covered by shiplap and had a new mantle put in and had tile work done around our fireplace. The project manager was in over her head and did not plan the project well. Workers would show up at our house, and there was no work to be done because she never told them not to show up. Communication with the project manager was poor. While installing the new mantle, which was a terrible piece of oak that warped over time, the installer forced the new mantle in and ended up cutting the shiplap with a dull saw and forced the mantle in. I told all the workers to leave along with the project manager after that happened. They wanted to charge an additional $1,300 to fix their incompetence as we were not pleased with the new mantle. They offered to cover the butchered shiplap for an additional $900.00. After these poor solutions, I ended the working relationship with them and did not return their phone calls. They placed the blame on me. I hired a competent carpenter to build a beautiful mantle. He fixed the poor work Zinz provided. They also sent the final bill to my house while I was on vacation for 2 weeks. I was not home to pay it, and they sent a certified letter the next week and threatened to put a lien on my house if the bill was not paid. What a nice way to treat a customer. I would not recommend them.

everything went very well. pricing was good, carpet came in when they said it would. installation date met my schedule. installer was very professional and work was done with no problems. i have used ZInz before for carpeting and tile and they will be my first choice in the future.

Used this company because they are local and a name we recognized.
Almost 6 weeks after signing the contract and paying required deposit, $1.700, we still did not have a start date someone was always off or items weren't in yet. I went to the store, sat down with the owner, expressed my disappointment in the company, explained I needed it completed before the first weekend of August because I had family coming to visit. I was informed my designer was no longer with the them, heard their problems and apologies.
When the start date finally arrived, the work seemed to be going well, the counters were beautiful and a perfect fit. The wrong sink had been ordered, adding another delay. The largest problem is the quality and finishing of the tile work-rough cut tile edges, crooked design and, even after removing the worst and trying again, it looks more like an amateur job. Some days only one person came instead of two because he was assigned to another job. The owner was here a few times, sent me a fruit basket and after a total of 5 months from signing the contract, I was frustrated and wanted my kitchen back. I told them I was done and friends of mine (who also thought it was terrible work quality) had done a better job on a much larger tiling project themselves.
I was never rude or disrespectful when conversing with the owner or the workers because that gets you nowhere. They were always polite also.
Today I have caulking coming apart along the back splash! I will have this repaired by someone who does quality work. I will never recommend them to anyone. Their employees were very nice, but I felt as though my small job was of little importance and I was scheduled a few days at a time just to appease me. I learned a valuable lesson and will now check Angie's list for reviews, etc before hiring anyone!

It was not a good experience. I was the "quality assurance" person. I think that the project manager was not professional, although all of the workers claimed to be "professional". The work was estimated to take 3 weeks, but took more like 9 weeks to complete. I was not satisfied with the process, and the lack of professional communications, so I will not use Zinz again, although I have much more work to be done.
