The Maids

Attention to detail and joyful service sets this company apart from the others. The team assigned to our home, 'Team Blush' I believe, is especially good. They cleaned our house for years when we lived close to the city, then when we moved out to the boonies, they worked with me to continue service at our new home. Good people, reasonable prices, and consistently good results; any one of those things is rare today, but all of that from the same company is exceptional. 'The Maids' is highly recommended.

The Violet Team did a great job of cleaning my mother’s condo. The team was hard working and paid attention to details. The condo looks great! I would hire The Maids again.

It did not go well. The house is small and was left in fairly good condition by the previous owners. However, there were still many things that needed done. My daughter left a note for them so they knew what she wanted them to concentrate on. Needless to say, it didn’t get done. My daughter called the company. They agreed to give her a portion of her money back.

They come every two weeks. It's automatically billed.

It went well, we needed the house cleaned completely for getting ready to put on the market.  They were punctual and did a very good job.   Although it seemed pricey, it was actually reasonable, because there are four housekeepers who come in at a time and work on cleaning different areas.  It's a very good service, especially if you are moving in or moving out.

GENERALLet's start by saying I was given misleading information when I made the appointment.  I asked how much a one-time only deep clean would be vs having the company come out every other week and there was a substantial value to having the biweekly cleaning over the one-time deep cleaning.  I was NOT told that the first cleaning (even for the biweekly) is their "deep" cleaning. Nor was I told that I would be billed in 10 minute increments for every minute after the first hour (or I would have been far more participatory in seeing that things were efficiently cleaned quickly).
KITCHENI am familiar with the cleaning method of moving methodically around the room and going from top to bottom in each section and finishing up with the floor.  When I walked through the kitchen, I told the gal working in there that she did not need to detail the old dishwasher (circa 1967) as it no longer worked and was going to be replaced.  Due to bad use of time, the floor got short shrift and I had to point out that the tops of the cabinet doors had been missed.  The team leader acknowledged that the cabinet door tops should have been done first.  The floor was quickly wet mopped using zero elbow-grease, so I spent the afternoon redoing the kitchen floor and baseboards on hands and knees.  The team leader started to clean the ceiling fan in the kitchen but I am going to have to re-clean that as well.
LIVING ROOMI use this room only rarely and the pets do not go into it, so I figured cleaning it would be a snap.  The gal made good progress and it looks fine (although I will have to clean the piano to get rid of the steaks her product left).
BEDROOMI was very clear when I ordered the service that I have two large dogs (including a German Shedder) and read on the website that they sweep under beds, etc. (I could make a baby German Shepherd with the amount of hair that remains under the bed and behind my nightstand.   They did put clean sheets on the bed (part of their package), but didn't dust the nightstand or objects on it.
BATHROOMIt was obvious that the team leaders (with some amount of experience) cleaned the bathroom as it really was about the best of all the rooms.
GREAT ROOMThis (and the kitchen) was the biggest disappointment.  I have 14 foot ceilings and, while their promotional materials explain that they can't use ladders, they promote the fact that they have long reaching wands on the backpack vacuum cleaners.  Apparently not long enough to reach the cobwebs.  Then I started looking at the dusting (which apparently was done BEFORE the gal with the vacuum wand went through the room).  My desk was not dusted.  The middles of the window sills were dusted but not the ends. The shutters were not dusted.  And you could see where the woodwork was dusted on one side of a plant and then the other, but not behind the thing. The biggest disappointment was the hardwood floor.  I watched the woman make light-hearted passes over the floor (again, no elbow-grease).  I have two very large dogs, it is going to take some effort to clean the floor.  I allowed them to use their product and, as I suspected, it didn't work well.  I prefer vinegar and was told that vinegar was not good for floors and that it would take the finish off and was asked "who recommended vinegar?"  I explained that the installer of the floor recommended it (and it has always worked well for me in the 8 years I have had these floors).  It certainly works better than the product they used and the mop made for very wet floors (my preferred mop does a great job of leaving the floor practically dry).  They did a nice job on vacuuming the rugs in the room.
CONCLUSIONI do not have a big house and one good friend and I could have blown it out in far less time (about an hour) and done a better job. I did this as a gift to myself and get to clean my house again for my trouble.  So why didn't I have them fix these things before they left?  It was not possible to do a walk-through before they left because the floors were all wet.  Further, at that point in the transaction, I knew they were billing me for every 10 minute increment and, after $300, I was not about to pay a penny more.

It seems after a period of time they lose their attention to detail.

The initial cleaning was incredibly thorough. They do a great job when I’m home, and I think they’re very trustworthy. A few times, however, I haven’t been home while they were here and it’s very obvious that they just surface-cleaned. It’s not as thorough as it should be. Their weekly/bi-weekly cleaning is too expensive for what they do. The people that run the company are very professional.

They are prompt, good, reliable and do what you ask them to do.

We’ve been using them for several months now. Overall, we’ve been very happy. After a few weeks of service, I wasn’t happy with the cleaning, but they were incredibly responsive and gave me a deduction on the next cleaning. Also, early on in the service, employees would also have me come and check everything to make sure everything is okay. I’m here when they’re cleaning, and the employees are okay with that, whereas previous cleaning services, they didn’t like me around. They’re proactive; I don’t have to remind them when holidays fall on the day they’re supposed to come and clean. They’re not the cheapest, but I don’t have to worry. They’re also incredibly flexible with scheduling. We’ve had a lot of cleaning services over the years, and they’re probably the best that we’ve ever had.

In general, the experience has been very good. Occasionally, they do leave some things that they should’ve done, but overall it’s okay. There are usually four employees. They’re honest and hardworking.

The experience has gone pretty well. It’s not a really thorough job, but it’s like most of the housecleaning companies where they try to get too many homes scheduled in a day. The crew consists of about 3 people and they complete the work in about an hour and a half. Their price is average. I do use them on an ongoing basis.

It's been wonderful dealing with this company. These employes are terrific at cleaning everything. They always arrive on time and call beforehand. They come in with a crew of 4-5 people, so they’re in and out quickly. They’re attentive to anything that I bring to their attention that I’d like to have done differently. We have three dogs, so our house is difficult to keep clean. They are better than fantastic! They are, by far, the best housecleaners that we have ever had.

The team is very punctual and professional.  I would recommend to my friends and family.

They showed up a little late. They were supposed to be there at 8 and came at 845. No big deal. There were four people and they introduced them all by name. They were very nice. I came home about 1.5 hours later and they were smoking in my driveway, but the house was beautiful. 

First visit went pretty good.  Then next few visits inconsistent.  Any requests made did not get relayed to other assigned teams.  Every week was a different time but the same day.  About the 4th visit the house hardly looked clean.  Complete areas undusted and floor which are claimed to be cleaned on hands and knees had visible dirt or crumbs.  I sent pictures and said I no longer wanted to continue service.  They offered to do the work at the same time each week with the same team to gain consistency.  The next 2 visits were NOT stellar...and then they changed the team and again, many areas not clean with visible dirt etc.  Our house in general is kept tidy so after a house cleaning I expected a clean house.  Not the case with this company.  We have terminated the relationship.

The 4 workers show up and after one hour of cleaning, one of the workers was still doing the first master bath!!! Another lady just ran around with a vacuum at a snails pace doing cobwebs - after 2 hours (8 man hours mind you) they still hadn't swept my master bedroom - the first room they started on!!! What a crock= they were hourly paid and taking their time , so after 2 hours and a $300 bill - they only cleaned one bedroom, my kitchen and a family room!!! I have never been so upset and called the company who simply said they do a much more thorough cleaning so it takes longer - my place looks no better now then it did prior - do not use this company!

I think it went okay overall. I requested but did not receive a phone call when they were on their way. They missed some spots here and there but I thought that they did a decent job overall. I don't think it was anything special.

They are reliable and they do good work. They are responsive, punctual, and professional. Their price is good.

They were supposed to be at my house at 2pm for the initial cleaning day, but they did not call or show up, so they came out the following Monday while I was at work. I wanted to be here to watch what they were doing, but wasn't able to be because the ydidn't show at our scheduled time. She quoted $220 by phone and told me that 4 young women would be coming to clean out all the appliances, wash windows, run the vacuum, clean kitchen & baths, scrub the floors, and basically make the place spotless. I hired them because I wanted the home to be completely cleaned before I moved in with my own things, so the house was completely empty for them. They ended up charging me $328 and didn?t run the vacuum down the steps and landing, also, they didn?t scrub the floors as they were supposed to. I?m pretty sure they cleaned the appliances, but I know they did not clean the windows. I was pretty upset when I came back into the home and discovered that they had not done the work they were supposed to do. They guarantee their work and are supposed to come back and re-clean, if the job isn?t done well. Also, I was upset that the end cost was $100 highter than the original quote and they didn't do the work, so I asked for a refund of the extra $100. She would not give me a refund, but gave me a $100 gift certificate for future cleaning. I asked them to come back and clean the house again in June so that I could use the gift certificate. They sent people back out, but the only thing they did was run the sweeper over the furniture. They didn?t do anything that I had asked. When I called to complain about this experience, they screamed and yelled at me, and said ?I suppose you want something else for free?, and they hung up on me. They were completely unprofessional and I would not ever use them again. I was disappointed at how poorly the issue was handled and they have not resolved the issue. They are unprofessional, they lied, they charged more than the quoted cost, and they didn't do the work they said they will. I just want them to perform the services that I paid for. The house was completely empty and is only about 1200 square feet, so 4 women should have been able to clean it rather quickly. They screamed at me and hung up on me twice when I called to talk with them about the problems and they never really honored their certificate or their guarantee on the initial job.

They were very good. It would take them about four hours to clean the house or they had four people for two hours. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good housecleaning company.

The maids do a great job cleaning the house once a week. Since they come with 4 people it usually takes them less than an hour. I do find that they are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I like that they come with the same team every week.

They sent a crew of four for 2 hours, and they did nothing except break my shower door. They were very rude. They only dusted three chairs out of six. They did very spotty cleaning. They missed a big noticeable cobweb. The owner even came out to see what they did and didn't do. He fixed the shower door and said that he would send a new crew back to clean, but I didn't want him to. The owner did agree with me that they did a terrible job. He said he fired that crew. I didn't get any money back and they overcharged me from the start. The estimate they gave me was a lot less than what I got charged.
