Brothers Roofing and Construction

It went okay. It was completed promptly but not sure that it was a great value. It was less expensive than another estimate that I received but they also quoted it less because they didn't replace any sheathing. They matched the shingles on the house. They also cleaned up well when the job was done.

They did exactly what we agreed to. They showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up afterwards, even the smallest pieces. The one thing that might have gone better was that they promised to have materials arrive the next Tuesday and work on Wednesday, but there was no communication other than the promise. At 3:00 on Tuesday I called to be sure we were on the schedule. We were and all was accomplished as stated. Overall, we are very happy with the work.

Brothers Roofing did a good job in replacing my
back roof on my addition, however I was quoted $3,900 to complete the job and
they said if there was any damaged wood it was going to be an extra $49 per
square foot for bad decking. Trusses, framing, facia will be charged $6.00 per
foot extra. When they took off the roof there was damaged wood, more than what
they were thinking. Bill (the owner) said the new quote was going to be $9,800.
He said there was going to be $2,500 in just new lumber. I agreed because at
this point the roof was already off the house and I trusted him from all the
great reviews I read. However I called Bill (the owner) the next day and asked
for an itemized deduction on the work (Bill agreed that he would provide that
to me) I do a lot of work on my home myself and I knew there was no way that
the amount of lumber used on my roof cost $2,500.
 When the roof was complete he asked for his check and I asked for the itemized deduction. Where Bill then said "I
don't know how much wood was used on that roof and I have NEVER provided a
customer with an itemized list for any job. Every other contractor I have used
has ALWAYS provided me with an itemized deduction. Bill said on the phone to me
"I don't care if there was $500 or $5,000 worth of new lumber, we agreed
on a price and that's what you are going to pay. (I agreed to that price
because he stated there was $2,500 in just lumber- which there was not)
 In the end the work done on the roof looks nice
and when I did have a water leak from the tarps, they did come and fix it
properly. However amount of work and the cost of materials used for the job I
don't trust and feel like this job should have only been $7,000. Bill did lower
his price from $9,800 to $9,500 because he felt bad for the cost, but that
tells you there that the job was overpriced.
 If you choose to hire Brothers Roofing make
sure you get it in writing that you want an itemized deduction for all the work
and materials used. (maybe even ask for receipts for materials) because you
don't want to go through what I went through.

Could not do service on original service date (11/21/14) due to bad weather.  Representative called and left message that they were not going to do the service until springtime 2015 and we could request refund from Angie's List or they would call us in the spring.  We decided to wait and have them call us in the spring.  They never called and I forgot about it until early Fall 2015.  Called to make appointment and was told that they no longer provide this service, but they would go ahead and honor the purchase and would be out within a week to do the job.  After about two weeks I think someone did show up (no one was home at the time) because there was some debris in the front yard and the yard was a little torn up.  To my knowledge they did not do the back of the house, just the front.

They were outstanding. My old roof was leaking around the chimney so they replaced the whole roof. The work was very, very well done and customer price was good and so was the price.They went out of the way that weather does not cause a problem.The owner was here everyday and did some work himself as well.

The service was ok.  There were some delays in scheduling but they did finally come out and complete the work.  The owner came out with another worker and explained the roof inspection.

You have so many days to use the deal and you always paying $99 for clean up of gutter. They were pretty good because the last couple of persons I had out here they cleaned out my gutter, but they left gutters full of crack and this guy came out twice to clean out those gutters and he will get some kind of tool to clean it up because it was a small area between the roof and the gutter. He came back during this day and cleaned out the gutter. He did a pretty good job as I expected and it looks pretty good. I really find anything bad about him. He did a good job. I would use this provider again in the future.

My tree dropped leaves late so by the time I called everything was frozen. They came out anyway, did what they could ,checked everything, and agreed to come back in the spring. Great service philosophy!

After I purchased the Deal they were very prompt to contact me to schedule the work.  They arrived at the scheduled date and time and were very professional.  The work was completed very much to my satisfaction.  I will use them again.

It went very well. Bill did a very professional and thorough job and gave some suggestions that were very helpful even though they were outside of his scope of supply. I will definitely consider using Brother's Painting & Remodeling for a roofing and siding contract on my house next year.

We had some wind damage to a portion of our large, multi-level, high pitched roof.  Bill worked with us on submitting the claim to the insurance company, went back and forth with the adjuster on our behalf at both the beginning and the end.  He understands the insurance process and has a great crew.  He communicated with us during the entire process.  The it rained the day we scheduled and he called to let us know it would be the next day.  The crew came out tore off the old two layers of roofing and were very careful not to damage any landscaping.  They put down membrane in the valleys and edges, put metal over the membrane in the valleys, put new drip edges on, felt and a new shingles and a ridge vent. They caulk all the places they should, cleaned up really well.  Crew was very nice and hard working.
Great job.  We would recommend Bill and team.

The owner, Bill Schmidt, was great! He was very professional, thorough, reliable, and forthright. He came to my door one evening to discuss the horrible condition of my roof (we were well aware!) My first reaction was to tell him that I wasn't interested and that I was busy making dinner, but his personality won me over and he spent approximately an hour on my roof inspecting it, measuring it, talking to me about his company and services, and giving me a very detailed estimate. He worked with me to deal with storm damage through my insurance company, he followed through with every step of the process as he had stated, and the end results were wonderful. His crew of workers got my roof finished from start to finish in one day, they cleaned up after themselves and even had the dumpster hauled away that same night. Hats off to this company! I would recommend them to anyone and truly feel that I could not have found a better choice of companies to use to have roof work done.

Several of my neighbors were getting their roofs replaced because of past storm damage. I walked up to Bill and asked him to see my roof.  I had damage to shingles.  I called my insurance to see if insurance could cover the roof, since I have homeowners insurance I was hoping.  They told me an adjuster would come out in a few days and see the roof with Bill. When he came they got up and walked on the roof together. The adjuster said their was damage and the insurance would pay for my new roof.
What wonderful news that was.  On Monday they showed up early a bunch of workers and started the job, taking the old roof off and fixing some things before the new shingles.   They were done later on that day.   The next day they were doing my neighbors.  Good workers, they work fast and clean up after themselves.  I would recommend them.

We were in need to replace our roof.  Brother's painting was a referral given to us by a friend who lives in Columbus too who had their leaky roof replaced by them, insurance covered it. They returned my call the same day. They were very friendly and set up an appointment for the next day.  When he showed up he was very nice and got on a ladder up on the roof.  When he was done he took his time explaining to me about the areas that were bad and details on why I needed a new roof.  I appreciated that he was not rushing and answered my questions and explained to me in detail things no one had before.  I also showed him the inside where i had some water damage that would need to be painted.  Everything was so simple, we scheduled for them to come out and do the work, when they came they showed up early, kept everything clean, trash was not all over, they tore up the roof and replaced it the same day.  Cant believe how it was all done in 1 day.  When they left you would never know someone had been their working everything was just how I like it. The next day they painted the ceiling areas that had water stains.
Very happy with their work, i would hire them again.

The roofers were timely and very tidy.  The project took about 6 hours, and they hauled away all the old shingles, and swept the patio after themselves.  Everyone in the company is very pleasant to deal with. I would certainly recommend them.
