LOCAL OWNED CO. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ORIGINAL INSTALL AND PROMPTLY CONTACTED THE MGR THE NEXT MORNING TO NOTIFY HIM. I TOLD HIM I HAD STOPPED PYMNT ON THE CHECK I HAD GIVEN TO THE INSTALLER THE NIGHT BEFORE & THAT I WASN'T SATISFIED WITH THE INSTALL. THE INSTALLER LEFT A HOLE IN ONE CORNER OF THE ROOM AS WELL AS LITERALLY DESTROYED THE PAINT 4 FT ON SOME WALLS IN PRACTICALLY EVER CORNER OR EDGE OF THE ROOM. THE CARPET AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS WAS NOT CUT PROPERLY & HAD BEEN SMASHED INTO THE BASEBOARD. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY OF THIS UNTIL I VACUUMED UP THE CARPET FRAILS ALL OVER THE ROOM. ULTIMATELY I DOCUMENTED ON FILM THE DAMAGE & THE POOR INSTALL AS THE MGR WOULD NOT COME TO MY HOME & SAID THE INSTALLER HAD TO FIX IT. AFTER SOME TIME THE INSTALLER DID FIX THE PROBLEMS & I WENT TO PAY THE CO. UPON WHICH THEY TOLD ME I OWED AN ADD'L $40 FOR STOPPING PYMT ON MY ORIGINAL CHECK & THEY THREATENED TO FILE IN COURT AGAINST ME TO COLLECT IT! DO NOT BUY CARPET FROM THIS COMPANY!
Description of Work: INSTALLED CARPET IN A NEWLY FINISHED BASEMENT. ULTIMATELY RECEIVED NASTY LETTER FROM OWNER ACCUSING ME OF CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE CARPET ETC. AFTER THE INSTALLER LEFT AS WELL AS "THAT THEIR INSTALLER WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING." I CALLED THE MANAGER OF THE STORE WHEN I RECEIVED THE LETTER AND SHE SAID "DISREGARD IT OUR OWNER IS BEYOND DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH RIGHT NOW!!" - READ ON FOR MORE INFORMATION!!!
