Dig-It Tree & Fence Company

Do not ever use this company. They claimed to be bonded and insured yet when they dropped a branch on my neighbor's roof, one month later, repairs still have not been done. If they were bonded and insured, this would have been easy to complete. My only choice at this point is to pay for the repairs myself and then take the owner of Dig It (Chaz) to small claims court to recoup this cost. Chaz refuses to answer his phone nor respond to text messages, voice mails or email messages. In addition his crew failed to complete the job. They left one tree up that they were supposed to cut down and Chaz refuses to return to cut it down despite the fact that his company has been fully paid. Finally, they were supposed to run all the small branches through a chipper. Instead they dumped on a vacant lot across the street. I should have checked them out on the BBB page before they did the work. Had I done that, I would have found that Dig It has an F rating! And i certainly should not have paid them in full until my neighbor's roof was repaired, branches were chipped and last tree was cut down. Shame on me for thinking that they were trustworthy and honorable. The are far, far from it. Give yourself a break. If you are looking for someone to clear trees, keep looking. Don't go here!!

Took my trailer as payment then never performed to work. Offered excuses and promises each time we contacted him. Now he doesn't return calls.

Am in the process of filing a criminal complaint.

He totally ruined all of my grandpa's floors by oversanding them. He just took my grandpa's money and ran. My grandpa is 100 years old! This guy will lie and say anything to get a job. You hear about this stuff and don't believe it happens but it does - I don't want anyone to go through this again. I hope no one else gets taken by this guy. It is truly horrible what he did.

Search for Smith, Chaz and you'll find he has a history of owing people money.  I full intend to post the full story complete with pictures and all the information I have on Chaz to the Cincinnati / Wilmington Craigslist as well as Columbus Craisglist DAILY.  If he's going to take food out of my kids' mouths I can happily return the favor.
The facts:  Chaz and I signed a written agreement that a fence would be installed within a week of April 29th (day the permit was approved).  Contract was signed 3 days prior.
Normally I would just buy the supplies (cedar pickets, 2x4's, posts) but was told that "Eadfence.com" was running a SALE and since they use them regularly I'd be getting a big discount if I let Chaz and his helper buy the supplies.
May 3rd Chaz dug the holes, and May 5th he put in the posts.  He told my wife May 5th (we'd have a fench in tomorrow (Monday).
8 days went by without hearing from Chaz despite NUMBEROUS phone calls, texts, emails.
Finally he returns my call and says he'll "be up Wednesday to install the fence" and he's "very sorry".
Wednesday - no call, no show.  Doesn't return calls.  Same for Thursday and Friday.  At this point I'm tired of being held hostage by this guy and Friday I had discovered his criminal record so I knew I'd never see or hear from him again.
I also had called Ead's fence and they told me that no one had bought that many cedar pickets AND they'd NEVER HEARD of CHAZ Smith.
This will be posted repeatedly on the Cincinnati and Columbus Craigslist.
Chaz Smith and Laura Smith have repeatedly been in trouble with the law for not paying bills.  They also apparently give out random Wilmington addresses when summoned to appear in court so they can't be served.
Chaz is now operating under "Dig-It Tree and Fence Company" and uses these phone numbers:
