I found TSP responsive on the AC & Heating side. They do good but not excellent work. TSP in my personal experience normally has had to return to repair what they've done at least one extra time about 70% of the time. I'm unsure why when evaluating the repairs, it appears they miss something and have to return to fix it again. I've used TSP numerous times for over 10 years, however, TSP repeatedly has not called me with repair estimates. Although I've informed TSP repeatedly that I require an estimate before any repairs can be done, the company continues to ignore my request. For the last repair, I requested a technician visit a rental property to check the non-working furnace. The tech went to the property, diagnosed the problem, and fixed the furnace but never bothered to call me to provide an estimate of repair. I called TSP to discuss their bill. I informed TSP rep, Dave, that the company continues to ignore my request to provide me an estimate prior to making repairs and continues to repair and bill me without my approval to take any amount of money out of my pocket. I stressed that my call for service is not a blank check for their company to go on-site and fill out a check for the amount I have to pay. I must be provided the opportunity to say no, not now, or just thank you. Again I was informed that it is their procedure when they get a service call to go out and fix the problem and that they do not call to get approval or provide an estimate for repair to complete the repair found by the technician. After discussing the issue with company rep Dave, I was told by Dave that this last bill would be voided but to never call their company for service again. I informed Dave that his company procedure is a violation of the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act at 109:4-3-0S(C) which requires a written estimate for any work or repair over $50 dollars. I was told that's not what we do! Obviously! Just frustrating and disappointing.

Paul Grubiss, Tim and Tom Schaefer Plumbing did an outstanding job for us. From the start of a speedy visit to see what we currently had, then providing a quote, ordering in a new 1 stage 80% furnace, to total replacement/install and cleaning up the area once finished like they never were there. We will absolutely promote your company for future HVAC and plumbing opportunities to those we know at work, friends, family, etc; Thank you so much and have a Happy Thanksgiving! I had a sensitive issue that required the owner, Mr. Schaefer's, attention. Mr. Schaefer's response was immediately professional, prompt, and empathetic. I am grateful for his assistance and would happily recommend his company, and call upon Schaefer Plumbing in the future.

I scheduled the service call on a Thursday for the upcoming Monday between 8 and 12. This was the first available time. Two service guys arrived at 1:45. One extra technician was for the previous call. I almost cancelled them for being so late. Rather than take down the ductwork and replace just the t fitting, the tubbing was rerouted to get the t fitting in a more accessible location which made sense. One issue that I had was they ran out of propress fittings (they only needed four) because of other jobs performed and had to leave to get them. They wanted to bill me for the travel time to the supply store. I objected and got the office manager to remove it before they left my house.

When I call, it's an excellent response. They come out the same day or the next day. It's just one worker, and it took him a half hour to complete the work. They're the only ones I've used in the last ten years.

I've used this company several times, and I've always received the service I've asked for, and never was subject to any upsell. I was informed of any potential future issues, and was offered options. Great company

I contacted Tom Schaefer Plumbing on Thursday because there was corrosion around the concrete between the basement floor and the waste stack.  Every time I flushed the toilet, water would gush out along with some toilet tissue.  They scheduled me for Monday.  Mike & Paul called prior to coming and were on time.  They looked at the problem and informed me that the whole waste stack did not need to be replaced.  Two other contractors had previously looked at the problem.  One told me to just get some concrete mix and fill in the holes.  Another contractor told me I would need to replace the waste stack and to do so, they'd have to cut a hole in the wall in the stairway leading to the basement.  From what Mike & Paul could see, they would only need to cut away a portion of the waste stack and replace it with a PVC pipe.  They also recommended putting in a cleanout cap for easy access  if future backups occur.  They checked the water flow through the clean out cap in the pipe from the kitchen and there was a slight backup.  They told me that the estimate would come from the office but if there was additional work that needed to be done they wouldn't know until they dug out the area.  Mike & Paul showed up on time on Tuesday and began their work.  They used a jack hammer to break up the concrete and then manually began removing the dirt and rocks around the pipes.  They called me downstairs and showed me what needed to be replaced and how much of the pipe would be cut.  While removing some dirt and rocks from a section of the pipes, they came upon some work that someone previously had done and called me downstairs.  What they showed me was that one of the pipes had corroded and someone covered it with a thin sheet of metal, which had also corroded.  This required them to have to replace more pipe than they originally thought.  Most of the day was spent removing the dirt and rocks around the pipes that needed to be replaced.  They informed me that they would be back the next morning to begin the work of replacing the pipes.  Mike asked me what I was doing for Thanksgiving because he could smell the aroma of things I was baking.  I told him dinner was at my house.  He said they would do everything possible to be done on Wednesday and asked how early they could come.  I told them as early as they wanted.  They showed up early Wednesday morning and completed the job late that afternoon/early evening.  They tested for leaks by having me flush the toilet several times and running the water in the kitchen faucet.  No leaks.  I was so relieved.  Mike & Paul poured new concrete and took away all of the corroded, nasty looking pipes that they replaced.   The area was cleaned up.  They told me to make sure that no one walked on the concrete until it was dried.  From beginning to end, Mike and Paul were very professional and kept me informed of what they were doing and why they were doing it.  To go from thinking I needed a whole new waste stack to only needed a portion of it cut out was a big relief.  When they showed me the patched up work that someone else did and explained why that portion of the pipe also needed to be replaced made me very confident that these were some straight up guys who weren't in the business of taking advantage of people.  I applaud Mike and Paul's professionalism and how they kept me informed of what was going on.  They provided exemplary customer service.  I will use Tom Schaefer Plumbing in the future if the need arises and would ask for Mike & Paul.

-YES ----it happened suddenly We had a elbow joint break under the basement stairs that leaked water from the kitchen down into the basement floor --Called Tom and he was kind enough to stop at my house on his way home from work --On seeing the situation he knew instantly what happened because he had worked on other homes like mine --Without breaking into the downstairs wall and looking he was sure thats where the leak was comming from ---He took the time and explained the BEST and Worse case to my husband ----He suggested taking out the wall downstairs and putting a camera into the pipe that would go upstairs to the kitchen sink and see what the pipes under the slab looked like--He said it may or may not mean taking out kitchen cabinets and digging up the slab in the kitchen --OR it could just be the elbow needs replaced and solve the leak ---Next morning Right on time the men came --They cut out the downstairs wall found the crumbled elbow with a hole in it --then put a camera up in the pipes and because it was so filled with grease they could not see the condition of the rest of the pipes going to the sink ---They had my husband look in the camera so he could see-the clogs ----At this point they could have just replaced the elbow and stopped the leak but when asked what would you do ?? he was very honest first saying he dont want to tell us what to do but if the rest of the pipes look like the elbow which was so rusted that it crumbled when it was removed --and without being able to see the condition of the rest of the pipes he said it was a matter of tome before they all broke -----Seeing that broken rusted elbow and knowing the rest of the pipes are like that we opted to rip it all out ---Next morning they sealed the kitchen in plastic sheeting -looked and took my decorator plates down off the cabinets made sure anything that would fall because of vibrations was secured ---Long story short --after getting to the old pipes under the kitchen slab and removing them We so glad we decided to do this whole replacement --The pipes had long cracks and didnt leak YET because of the greese buildup but it would have been a matter of time until they did ---They were right and because of honest opinions from them we made a non pressured decision --Overall In spite of the jackhammer and pile of dirt in the kitchen the filled in the hole and cemented cleaned up evey piece of dirt and it was a PLEASURE working with them Money well spent for Peace of mind now AND the quote came in lower that the first day Tom stopped by because he was honest enough to teel us that best and worse case --so the didnt take out the cabinets they found a way to get to the pipes under them I was IMPRESSED by that and alot of other things that happened that IMPRESSED me with the honesty of this company and people who work here They are THE BEST
