I called Richards Plumbing/Appliance because my oven wasn't working. The ignitor needed to be replaced. My time slot was betwen 4:00-6:00 pm. Steve, the service tech, called to say he was on his way, was there by 4:10, fixed my stove, tested to make sure it was working properly and was done by 4:45. He explained everything to me. I have been using Richards for years to service all of my appliances. They are friendly, prompt and honest! They will tell you if your appliance is not worth fixing instead of ripping you off. I have no complaints with Richards and will continue to use them.

The tech was really friendly and professional.  He helped us make the decision to replace our dryer instead of repair it.  The costs to repair the dryer was more expensive the just purchasing a new one.

I took a chance hoping to salvage my nonfunctional dishwasher instead of buying a new one.  I called Richard's after reading the reviews on Angie's List, and the lady who scheduled the appointment was very nice and helpful.  The service guys arrived right on time and promptly found the problem with the dishwasher.  Unfortunately, the dishwasher is an older model, and the repairs would cost more than I wanted to spend.  They also found other potential problems that down the road would be even more costly then the current repair.  If I had chosen to get the repairs, the cost of the service call would have been credited toward the labor. However, I ended up purchasing a new dishwasher instead. They were very professional and the price of the service call was very reasonable.  I would be comfortable calling them again for appliance service.

He told me the fan was clogged up with lint is because there had been a build up of humidity in the dryer.  It's true, several times this year I opened the dryer and it was damp to wet inside... then he noticed the window well covering over the vent and told me to replace it with a grate window well covering.  Ta Da!  
The dryer is running more efficiently, quieter and drys clothes much faster now.

I really like how promptly they come and fix the problem.  When my oven died they arrived the same day (Saturday), had the part on the truck and fixed it immediately..  My dryer was also a one trip fix.  This time the problem was caused by a loose door but everything was checked thoroughly just to be sure everything was working properly. .  Fast, cheerful, and accurate service.

Refrigerator ceased to cool.  Contacted Richard, and he returned our call within the hour.  Gave him a description of the symptoms, and based on this he told us to remove all food and unplug it so it would completely defrost by his early next morning service call. We did just that and Richard replaced the defective part  and it was back up and running in no time.
Richard was prompt, professional, and on-the-mark as to the problem.  His cost was also very affordable.  I highly recommend him for all of your appliance needs.

Because I had such a positive experience with Richard's repairing my oven, I called them when my hot water tank began leaking. On both occasions, I received same-day service. Came out, diagnosed problem, and quoted estimate for repair/replace. Work completed in same day.
Even though the replacement of the hot water tank involved much more than initially thought (plumbing), the original estimate quote held...no additional add-on charges.

I have used Richards at least 3 times in the past five years for different appliances and have received top quality service. I would certainly recommend them for any major appliance needs.

How did what go overall?

i emailed the company on 4/4/08 explaining what had occured. i heard nothing back so i called the company on 4/7/08. Gena said she was very busy and did not look at my email. i proceeded to explain what happened about me paying twice for the same repair service. she said she understood what i meant. i then never heard back from the company.

Called them on a Thursday and said they would come out Friday. He asked how long it took me to get home from my work. I said about 20 minutes. He replied, "I'll give you a call about 40 minutes before I head that way so you have time to get home." They called me at work as they said they would and he was at my house 30 minutes later. He had it fixed in 20 minutes and didn't charge for his travel.
