Hall's Lawn Care

Purchased a cord of “seasoned” wood through Facebook in Feb 2025. Unfortunately it wasn’t seasoned, and doesn’t burn unless the fireplace or flue is open. It just smolders and turns black. Sap runs out and in a few places it carmelized on my fireplace. I reached out through Facebook immediately and never heard back from him. I sent him pictures to show how wet the wood was, and got no response. When I got to the center of the pile this week, there were huge dead bugs all over inside the wood, and those pieces appeared to be rotten. I know it was peak cold season and wood was in high demand, but I still expected to get what was advertised- seasoned firewood not wet firewood and firewood filled with bugs.

Purchased 6 weeks ago and have burned 4 fires. Best firewood ever purchased. Clean, evenly cut and very dry. Moisture meter readings from 5.2 -7.5%. Excellent wood. Not a single stick ended up in the outdoor burn pile. Measured as a full cord. Will buy again.

Steve, the owner delivered a load of firewood this morning, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve gotten firewood from other places for over 20 years, and this firewood from BurntEndz is by far the best firewood I’ve ever gotten. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer.

We've been happy with the service and they've done a good job so far.  They rake leaves as well for us in the fall.  They are polite and clean up well.

Owner Steve was very professional and punctual. He takes pride in what he was doing. This property has  a big lawn and a old house.
We recently purchased this property and once when I was in the property, called him whether he would be able to come in an hour's time, he was so accommodating and came in within an hour( On a Sunday)  to see the ivy and bushes grown wild due lack of maintenance and he was very nice to quote a price immediately and  we contracted him only to pull ivy and trim bushes but he also removed all the rotten wood and made the place to look very neat which shows how professional and sincere in what he was doing. I really appreciate all his help till now. He also mows our place regularly and maintains it very neat.

They did excellent service and the price was reasonable. They were easy to schedule and very accommodating in terms of getting the grass cut. They did a nice job. They did not require a long term contract.

They came when they said they were going to come and they did a good job with the lawn. They cut things that I didn't think could be cut and they trimmed them all. The owner was the guy that we dealt with. Unfortunately, he was very pushy. It had to be his way or we couldn't do it like I asked him to, which was every other week. He said no. He said because it would get too big in between. I find it problematic when people immediately say that they have huge lawn because I do and how much they charge and how much were getting a really good deal for something. I don't really care. I am just trying to get the best deal possible. That is why I stopped using them. If you can put up with the attitude, it was good service. If we had dealt with someone else who was a little more laid back, we probably would still be using them.

They came the same day that I called. They were prompt and got the work done quickly.

He’s exceptional.  I like his punctuality and his attention to detail.  He cleans up afterwards.  He communicates if he isn’t able to be out any particular week.  He manages expectations.  He’s quick to bill and he follows up.  The whole thing is well done.

I just realized I had not submitted a report on Hall's so I wanted to remedy that.  I have been working with Hall's Lawncare for the past several years for basic lawn service as well as mulching in Spring and Fall cleanups.  I have been very happy with the actual service and the interactions I've had with Steve the owner as well as the front line folks doing the service.

My service from Hall's is on going and I can recommend them based on several years of service.

Halls bid amoungst others and was reasonably priced to competition.  We chose Halls due to the fact we spoke to a person when we called.  If not response time was within 24 hours.  Agreed to work with our groundscrew.  Great agreement for the job to be done.  

They were good and prompt. The guy that came out was fairly reasonable and he did the job as promised.

Called company based on positive reviews here on Angieslist. Owner Steve Hall responded quickly and came to offer estimate. In discussion I stated we wanted beds cleaned and mulched. It was my intention to do as much weeding as possible prior to their work. Mr. Hall said they would put new edges on all the beds, clean out and mulch, lightly trim shrubs. Estimate given was $610-820. Because of the extremely rainy month of April, I was not able to keep up with weeding, so when they arrived to do work, more weeding was done than expected. I understand the higher cost of the final work was due to the extra work and I won't dispute that. However, I was extremely dismayed to return to my home at the end of the day to find all my beds were up to 6 inches wider and some were of differing shapes than when work started. I called Mr. Hall to let him know I was not pleased that the size and shapes of my beds had been altered. The yard was professionally landscaped and is now proportionally distorted. Mr. Hall insisted that in order to put a clean edge around the bed, he needed to remove 6 inches of the grass and this was the proper technique. He stated that I should have  made clear that I did not want the beds changed in size. No apology or offer of remedy was made. Potential customers should be forewarned that their landscapes may be dramatically altered unless they are vigilant. I will be resodding a good portion of my lawn this season.

Steve was prompt with his estimate and was reliable throughout the summer and fall to maintain our yard. There were no issues with him cleaning the gutters. We were planning a big party and I ran out of time with the landscaping, so I called him last minute. He came out right away and he and his crew completed the work in 3 days. He pulled out and moved all of the plants in the front of the house, expanded the planting beds, planted new trees and shrubs in the front and back, as well as mulched. We had lots of great comments on the yard from the party.

The owner was very friendly, and pricing was acceptable. The workers he sent us did as poor a job as I've ever seen. It got worse as the season went on, despite numerous calls to the owner. By the last service, the employees were rude, and seemed to go out of their way to do a bad job so that I would fire them.

He takes care of my gardening and comes every week. He's very prompt, handy, and courteous. His prices are fair. He does snow removal in the winter and he's excellent with that as well. I feel as though I'm in good hands. I am very satisfied with this service.

They did a fine job with the landscaping. They are very competitive in their pricing. Every once in a while I see some ridges in the grass, but I don't know if that's the blades on the lawn mower or something else. They were very responsive with the landscaping and came when needed, but they come whenever they need to for the mowing. We are very pleased.

Great! His workers are friendly and hard working. They were short staffed that week, so the job took longer, but it didn't effect the price much. I was concerned that working 10 hours in the heat, no one is at peak efficiency or performance, and I think that made the price (based on hours worked) a little higher that it would have been if all the scheduled staff was there. We will use him again, and at other properties as well.

They have been excellent. They were very polite and did exactly what I wanted them to do. They told me what their plan was in terms of one area of our yard. They were very efficient and did what they needed to do and then they left. I had to call them a few weeks ago about an area and they were out the same day I called them. There were two men who worked for an hour and a half each when they came out the last time. That service would probably be much less. They are normally here for more than an hour and a half and there are normally more than 2 people who come out. Their price is good and is reasonable compared to some other services we have had. I have recommended them to my neighbors too.

They were great. They had quick turn around time from when we called them and the did a great job with very professional work.
