About us

Scotts Appliance Service, Inc. was started in 1964 by Don Scott, out of his home in Parma. In 2001, Don’s younger brother Jim took over the business and continues the family tradition of superior customer services. Jim has expanded the business to service all of Cuyahoga County and surrounding areas in Lake and Geauga County. TALK TO THE PRO: Continuing in the tradition of the family’s commitment to professional service, Jim makes it a point to answer the majority of inquiries and actual service calls himself. Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide time-conscious customers with quality service at a fair price. Pricing and Warranties: Our basic service call rate is $59.95: which includes a home visit and diagnostic fee. Part prices are set by our vendors. Parts and labor are guaranteed for 90 days. Additional labor may be charged depending on the repair. All functions of appliance are tested prior to leaving your home to insure your machine is completely functional.

Jim did a nice job. Its not often you get a range on the repair bill and it ends up being on the low end. He put a fair amount of time on it and got the parts cheaper than expected.

Jim was excellent. He was on time, professional, and provided quality work. He found the parts need and was able to install and get the refrigerator running quickly. Will definitely use them again.

The computer system wasn't working right. He was able to locate parts if needed before he even came. He did a thorough job. All it was, was just adjusting the computer and now it works great. Just a few loose wires that got disconnected. He also re balanced the washer and dryer. 

The tech was nice, on time and did a good job explaining. Gave us a good idea on what it would cost to fix before he even came out. 

I was pleased he was professional and polite. He recommended new brands if we decided to replace ours. He was very honest and attentive.

Well the decision was not to fix it. It did need a new motor as well as other things so thanks to the information the service man provided I decided to go the route of getting a new appliance.

After having problems with two refrigerators at my house for almost a week, I called several appliance repair businesses on Angie's List trying to get someone to come out the same day as to avoid throwing away more food. I called early in the morning and Jim told me he would be out in the afternoon. He called me at 1:30 and was at my house shortly after 2:00. He was very professional and courteous and communicated the issues to my wife since I wasn't home. I certainly appreciated his quick response time and communication and I would definitely call him again.

Jim arrived to the appointment on time with all the parts needed to make the repair to the washing machine. He noticed that the knob on my dryer was missing and inquired if I was interested in a new one. He called for the price and is shipping it directly to our home. I appreciated his efforts in getting all the information necessary to make the repair in the first visit and his timeliness in arriving on schedule. I would highly recommend this company.

Water was leaking from our diswasher. Found Scott's number on Angieslist, he came out the same day. He quickly diagnosed the problem as being the door seal but needed to order the part. He came back the next day to do the work, was thorough, friendly and professional. He also leveled our dishwasher.

When I called, I didn't expect same day service. I left a message on his machine and the call was returned about an hour later. He got the particulars of the problem and when I asked him when he could do the job, he said he was figuring that out now. He stated he would be here mid-afternoon. He arrived mid-afternoon and checked the dishwasher; went to his vehicle and got the tools and equipment he needed and proceeded to do the job. No mention of estimated cost. I made an attempt at small talk while he was working and then got out of his way. When he was done, he cleaned up everything and when I asked him what I owed him, he thought a couple of seconds and stated $83.15. When I said that was an odd number to come up with, he stated that it was the total and he would show the detail on the billing (it did as $79.95 basic service and labor and $6.20 tax).
The price was less than I expected, and the pleasant conversation ensued after all the work was done.

He was only there for 10 minutes. He went to go get a part out of his truck and was going to fix it before telling me what the problem was, if I wanted to go through with it or how much it costs. He told me it would be around $150 and I told him I didn't want to repair it. He was then rude after that. He told me that unless people ask, he's not going to tell them how much the service will be. He also said he didn't care when I said I would leave a report on Angie's List about my experience.
