They did an excellent job. They took extra measures to ensure there was no recurrence of the waterproofing issue, like installing a drain that was not there originally.

Without scheduling a date/time, and without any paperwork or formal agreement, Larry came on to our property before the start of business hours (approx 7am) with a large excavator and dug a HUGE  (8'x10x) hole in our front lawn. When we arrived at work (approx 8:30am) half of our lawn was a muddy, crudely refilled crater and Larry was cleaning off his huge excavator. He mentioned, "Sorry, didn't find anything" and faxed us a quote for the full project ($10,000) the following week. 
Two weeks later, Sevco sent 1 employee with 1 rake and a bag of lawn seed to "grade and reseed" their destruction- The employee spent approximately 30 mins half-heartedly pushing dirt around. At no point did the employee or any member of Sevco Construction make any contact with our company regarding the work, which was completed with absolutely unacceptable result- we have pictures from 5 months later of our still totaled lawn before we were forced to hire a landscaper to repair the damage. Needless to say, we did not choose Sevco construction for our project.
Unfortunately, that was not the end of our troubles with Sevco Construction. Months later, having received ABSOLUTELY NO CONTACT in ANY form from Sevco Construction, I contacted Larry to ask if he planned to complete the lawn repair. At that time, for the first time ever, Larry told me that not only did he already fix the lawn as much as he wanted to, but that we OWED HIM $800 for digging the hole (which had provided us with no useful information). Sevco Construction never sent us a single bill or made a single phone call regarding this mysterious balance- it was only when WE contacted him that he decided he was owed money.
When we refused to pay without at the very least receiving an invoice or bill for the work, rather than sending anything, Sevco sued us in Willoughby Court for the $800. Essentially, the judge split the difference of the cost and entered a $480 judgement against us.
Our mistake was allowing Sevco to step foot on our property in the first place- because he had completed the work and we couldn't prove that we told him NOT to dig, they said that he was entitled to $480, even though he had never gotten a single piece of signed paperwork from us, never sent a single bill, never got permission from us to do the work, and never contacted us to make us aware that he believed he was entitled to money.
Aside from this review for AngiesList, we have also filed a permanent grievance with the Better Business Bureau. As it turns out, this isn't the first time Sevco Const. has mislead people into frivolous court battles to make some money. A quick search of Willoughby Clerk of Courts Civil Case Lookup for "Sevco Const" (www.willoughbycourt.com:8080/CivilConnect/cvlLookup.aspx) returns more than 25 cases of Sevco Construction suing clients after the fact.
I would be happy to provide anyone additional information, but I would STRONGLY recommend avoiding Sevco Construction.

Job went as planned. Lou was responsive and managed the task well.

They did not work for me; I used Angie's List to go online so I could hire a water proofer for the church. They did everything that they were supposed to do. They cleaned up nicely and they actually brought in some extra soil to better on some of the irregular areas in the lawn so that it would drain properly and they did not charge us for that. In terms of price, it was the lowest bid of three bids; it was good. They did exactly what we wanted them to do. The job was done on time. The price was fair for what they did; it was a big job. They were the lowest bidder. We would absolutely go with them in the future if there were a need.

Both jobs went beautifully from start to finish. It got approved by the Cuyahoga County Sanitary Sewer Department and the Board of Health. There were no problems. I don't know what my neighbors may have paid because this was something that we had to get done. Everybody on this street in this area had to get it done. I don't know what other people paid. I did get estimates though. I think they were very reasonable. The quality was excellent. I would hire them again if I had to do something else. I wish there were other things of that nature of what they do. Generally speaking, they install sewer lines for new constructions like new condos and so on. When they had heard that part of Pepper Pike was getting a conversion, they decided to throw their hat in the ring for bids. I hope they did well. I think we were the first customer to have it done with them. Just before the conversion we did the waterproofing which is not something again that they normally do on existing houses. One corner of the basement was getting water seepage up to the floor when it would rain hard and fast. They were able to find the problem, correct the problem, and clean up after themselves. In both cases they cleaned up beautifully after themselves and restored everything that needed to be restored. That worked out wonderfully. They also installed a window well drain to hook up to the original footer drainage line that never existed before. So that was a brand new installation of a footer drain. They didn't do any external drain pipes that go through the roof. They had to put the drains up from 6 to 8 feet down along the foundation up to meet the existing drain pipes and connect them. I don't know if they would want to do trenching for the rest of the basement if that happened. I certainly would call them first and see where I got sent from there. It's not at the top of their list of things to do. But since they were bidding the sewer conversion anyway, I had them look at the other situation and they were able to resolve it. It was done as two separate jobs one week after the other. They did a lovely job. The old man runs the company. His two sons work for him. They are very responsive and responsible. They are a really nice family to work with. I liked the one stop shopping.

Everything is beautiful. They did a wonderful job, and I was happy with every step of each project. They had not expected to have to cut through the sanitary line, which they had to remove and replace, but they handled the unexpected work extremely well. They were approved by the board of health and the Cuyahoga County inspector for the sewer line, approved and inspected by the director of the building department for the city of Pepper Pike for the waterproofing project, and also made sure they were properly licensed for the work. They took extra steps to assure the basement was a dry as possible, such as tapping holes in the concrete blocks to drain any excess moisture. They fixed all of the cracks in the basement wall, as well as tarring the entire wall. They marked clean outs, filled the trench with gravel and some fill, so that drainage is even more encouraged. The line that had been the footer line was tile, and they replaced it with PVP pipe. They added a window well drain for one basement window that did not exist before. They also did a couple other extra things for me because they had the equipment, such as removing three tree stumps in my yard, at no charge. They are a family-owned business, with the father working with his three sons. They were incredibly courteous and forthcoming. They are doing several other projects on my street. Their price was very reasonable--it was in the middle range of the contractors I spoke with. They cleaned up after themselves very thoroughly, and even power washed my driveway to clear any mud. They will come back in 6 months, after the earth has settled, to give me a bid to grade and level the lawn over the exterior pipe. I was very pleased with everything they did, and would absolutely use them again.
