Oh, dear reader. If only I had enough space and time to warn you from this horrible, dishonest, unethical man and his company. I *wanted* to be able to write a positive review after my move. I *wanted* to like Dan and I specifically retained his company BECAUSE he is a veteran. I thought words like 'honor' and 'integrity' would mean something to Dan, but alas, was I in for a big surprise. Here is a run-down of all the moving day that I got with this crook and his crew: 1) His crew showed up with a truck that was too small to transport all of my furniture. Therefore, they had to make two trips from my home in Chagrin Falls to the new one in Medina. This meant the day was 12 hours long instead of half that. And that I paid each man on the crew for his time as he sat in the truck driving back up to Chagrin, playing on his phone. 2) Dan's crew put a huge hole in my front entry way and didn't bother telling me about it. My cleaning person who arrived the next day took a photo. Dan felt this was a 'minor repair' and had no sense of urgency to fix the problem, even though the buyers were assuming occupancy the next day. The crew also gouged a freshly painted interior door. 3) THE MOVERS LEFT OVER $500 in FORGOTTEN ITEMS AND NEVER BOTHERED DROPPING THEM OFF TO ME: My vet-prescribed dog food, for example. An expensive topiary and vase that I'd reminded the crew 3 times to remember. A container full of supplies for my new house. When I texted Dan about these items, again, he wasn't too worried or in a hurry to make sure that I could feed my animals. Said he'd drop them off at my house in a few days...and never did. 4) The estimate was $500 less than what I actually was charged. And again, Dan sub-contracts U-Haul trucks, so you're gonna get whatever is on the U-Haul lot the morning of your move. In short, if you're looking for an inefficient, careless, forgetful, sheisty, and incompetent moving company, look no further! Dan Harrington Movers will definitely take your money and run.

"Hi [Member Name Removed] Unfortunately the move didn’t meet your expectations. It isn’t uncommon for moves to require two trips or multiple vehicles. Your move required around 40+ feet of truck, which would need a trailer to move. For a local move, it makes more since to use a 26 foot truck. I should have brought two, but I underestimated the job. That is my fault. You were not charged for the [Member Information Removed] time to or from Chagrin for the second trip, so you did not pay each member of the crew for the [Member Information Removed] back I apologize for the hole in the wall. Damage can happen on moves. You sent me the new owners contact info, and I worked it out with her about a repair time, which has been taken care of In your contract it states that we don’t take cleaning supplies and perishable items. Dog food is not an item homeowners usually expect movers to bring along. When I explained this to you afterwards via text, you said it “would have been nice to know before, Dan” but again, it was in the contract. The estimate I sent to you was for $1800. The move ended up being $2,010. The contract also stated it was an hourly rate and that the final price would be determined by our hourly rate and travel charge. The travel charge was $195 and you were not billed for any additional miles for a second trip We use long term leases with Penske. Unfortunately those trucks were out for the day, and we did have a UHaul truck for your move. The truck had nothing to do with your move, as it was 26 ft, the size we use for all local house moves. The matter was we needed two trucks, which I take responsibility for. I’m sorry we apparently failed you on this move. We have moved over 1000 families in the last 2+ years, and I take pride in putting my name on a business that people respect. We have over 100+ reviews between Angi, Thumbtack, and Google. I believe all but five of them are 5-star reviews. So while I feel that “inefficient” “sheisty” “incompetent” and “forgetful” are poor ways to describe our company, I’ll make sure that we do our best to learn from your move. Best of luck Dan"

Good. Dan Harrington's workers were polite and efficient. They worked very hard; we appreciated it and gave them something extra for their effort. But the crew did not return to my residence to do a walk through with me and therefore did not see the many things still needed to be moved. I ended up renting a U Haul truck myself and paid the bill for that. Then I contacted the owner, Dan Harrington who proceeded to reimburse me for the truck and for an antique item that was accidentally damaged during the move. Reimbursement was generous and Dan was helpful in resolving the issue except for the fact that he was hard to get ahold of. However when I did connect with Dan, he quickly and fairly took care of the reimbursement!

AMAZING service! The two movers i had were some of the nicest people. Showed up on time and did everything in a timely manner. I had a lot of stairs to move up and their positivity never stopped. I never have had movers before but definitely will not go to any other moving company from now on. Significantly affordable compared to competitors. 100% recommend!

It went fantastic !! Not only were Nick & Colin timely, they were quick and efficient. In a matter of 2 1/2 hours I was in my new home and my storage unit was filled. They were mindful of my possessions, covering all furniture and being careful with everything. And as far as the younger generation, these young men were absolutely respectful and sweet as can be. Will most definitely use them again and highly recommend this company. I read their other reviews and it’s what prompted me to hire them. : )

Everything went great! They were extremely helpful and professional! The building I was moving out of made things difficult for us and not easy to deal with, and they were so understanding and tried to help make everything run as smooth as possible. Would definitely recommend.
