BRIAN'S FURNITURE

After much shopping including Amish stores, we stopped at Brian's Furniture. Renee was by far the most knowledgeable individual we had dealt with. She knew everything about fabric qualities and the products the store sells. We purchased a Smith Bros couch and love seat and saved a true $1000. All of the other furniture in the store was also very good quality. When the couch arrived from the factory Renee called and made delivery arrangements. On time, the couch was delivered in perfect condition. The delivery men-son's of the owners-were very careful and polite. The entire experience was excellent and I highly recommend this business for furniture needs. We will always use this business for future furniture needs.

I am a repeat buyer with Brians Furniture and first used them for custom pieces of furniture a few years ago. My total purchases with this store are actually somewhere around $8000.00. They have a very nice set up where you can choose any type of wood any size, shape and color. This is especially important when you need furniture that is useful for someone in a wheelchair or furniture adjusted so that tall or short people can sit comfortable. I have never had any problems with any of my pieces that were custom ordered. We recently moved and needed some additional pieces of furniture so we decided to visit their Warehouse located at 34425 Lorain Road #7, in North Ridgeville. The total of that purchase only was $3830.12. After a few different trips, we purchased two media stands, a damaged desk that was supposed to be repaired, a small writing desk, a library table, a bookshelf and a wooden chair to go with the small writing desk. We were told that if we paid cash we could take an extra 10% off, except for the library table, so we paid for everything plus part of the library table with CASH and put the remaining approximate $480.00 on a credit card. All of the pieces of furniture were delivered in one trip. Both media stands and the plain wooden chair were fine and didn't have any issues. The damaged Palacek desk was in an accident at their store and had a damaged top. They were supposed to restore and re-polish that prior to delivery, but never did so, but it is now being used as a keyboard stand. The problem pieces were the bookcase, the small writing desk, and the library table. These three pieces had such a strong pungent mold odor that I had to use my asthma inhalers and antihistamines. When I complained to the store they told me that what I was smelling was probably more a smell from formaldehyde leaching out from the plywood, but mentioned that I could try to clean the furniture with vinegar. The store eventually came out to pick up the bookcase the writing table, and the drawer from the library desk. Weeks went by without any calls so when I called, I was told that the pieces were "airing out". I'm not sure why several year old furniture needs to air out? Anyhow, as the weeks went on, I called the store and asked if they could just make new pieces, but I was told that my cost would triple. The store then decided that they wanted to seal the pieces of furniture to try to seal the formaldehyde. When they finally redelivered the pieces, I opened the drawers of the writing desk and could still smell the moldy smell as well as the clear coat smell so the problem was not taken care of. In the past I have always had a good experience with this store. This time, I don't know what happened, but my experience is not a positive one. On June 15th, I wrote a letter to the store and asked to return the 3 items that had the moldy pungent smell. I asked for $1737.00 plus $112.91 for the tax to total $1849.91. Just yesterday I got a check for $1737.00 with a note on the check that it is payment in full and an additional note that the tax money cannot be returned because they already paid it to the State. This is the first time that I have never not received a refund of tax paid on a purchase that was returned. I was actually prepared to give this company straight A's down the list as my experiences have always been positive until this one. BUYER BEWARE OF THE WAREHOUSE FURNITURE---My experience is 50% of the furniture was good and 50% needed to be recycled. This store also charges a delivery fee of $79.00, and I was just told also has a restocking fee for any returns.***** I recently in July got reimbursed for the tax money that I should have gotten back with the returns with an explanation that I should be applying to the State of Ohio for any tax refunds of returned merchandise. Not receiving tax money on a return was a first for me.

We bought two peices of furniture and they were kind enough to hold our furniture until we completed having out house painted.

They were in perfect shape and were delivered as if they were fresh from the manufacture. Staff were very professional and accommodating to hold our pieces until we were ready for delivery.

Renee and Brian were, as has been our experience several times in the past, extremely helpful and accommodating. The table / chairs arrived within their estimated delivery date and are exactly as we expected... beautiful pieces, built just as we specified. We have purchased a number of pieces from Brian's; our experience has always been just great.

Price was great and finished product is beautiful. However too much, much longer to complete that was initially told. Should have been ready end of January and just picked up. Phone calls not returned when checking on status - not the greatest in customer service response. Would use again, but am aware how long things will actually take.

WE HAD TO WAIT QUITE A WHILE TO RECEIVE OUR TABLE...14 WEEKS...BUT THEY DID A FABULOUS JOB. RENEE IS VERY PLEASANT TO WORK WITH. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING CUSTOM MADE BUT THE WAIT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW MANY ORDERS HAVE COME IN...SO SOMETIMES THEY WILL MAKE IT VERY FAST AND OTHER TIMES IT FEELS LIKE AN ETERNITY. I WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN TO THEM IF WE WANT MORE CUSTOM MADE FURNITURE. WHEN OUR TABLE WAS DELIVERED, IT HAD THE WRONG LEGS. RENEE MADE SURE THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE...WHICH WAS A COUPLE OF DAYS.
