After my car was in accident, it was appraised for the damage related to the accident. During this appraisal, the appraiser noticed some hail damage on my roof and hood and recommended that I get it fixed. At this point, I contacted Westfield Insurance and explained to them that I would like to make a claim for the hail damage on my car. I had only had Westfield Insurance since May of this year, so this was my first claim with the company. I explained to them that I did not know when the hail damage occurred, but that it was earlier this year at the beginning of the summer. They were very responsive and helpful in setting up a claim and arranging for an appraiser to come out and evaluate my car.
After the car was appraised, it went into the shop for repairs. During this time Westfield changed their mind and decided that they may not be able to pay the claim, due to their records of a hail storm occurring before my coverage started. We went back and forth for a day or two, debating the date that the hail damage occurred. Eventually, in the end, Westfield decided to honor the claim, rather than bicker about the date. This shows me that they are committed to doing the right thing and look to put their customers first. The positive resolution of our dispute leads me to recommend Westfield Insurance.
