"On June 11, 2015, W. E. Miller Tree Service was hired to removed 9 small stumps, a Pear tree and trim a Lilac bush. While removing the Pear tree, part of the tree fell on some Evergreen shrubs under the tree doing some damage, but not enough damage that the shrubs needed to be replaced. [member’s name removed] was present and saw what happened. She never said there was a problem. She watched us do the job from start to finish; never voiced any concerns or complaints. She gave us instructions to trim the Lilac bush back as far as possible and I did as she requested. When we finished the job, she was satisfied and happy with the work, paid us and thanked us for a job well done. By the way, there was never any damage done to her deck and this is the first time she has ever mentioned damage to her deck. Three months later I received a call to meet with here because she wanted to talk about damage to her shrubs and cost to replace them. Even though I did not believe the shrubs needed to be replaced, because we did cause some damage. I agreed to pay half which was $100.00; she would cut the shrubs down and I would remove the stumps. Then she started to ask for more money and wanted me to remove the shrubs totally and I told her I would think about it. Then she took me to the front yard and complained about the Lilac bush and I disagreed and told her I was not responsible and would not pay because she asked me to trim it hard. I felt as though she was really trying to take advantage of the situation. I stand with my offer to remove the shrubs and stumps and pay half the cost of the shrubs which is $100.00."
