Valvoline Instant Oil Change

The quality of the service is fine. They could better their price.

They got me in quickly.

They changed oil, checked all fluid levels, tire pressure, and all lights. They are very professional, courteous and quick. I have had them change my oil for a few years now and am very pleased.

There are good points as well as bad. about this business. They are very close to my home and take customers on a first-come first-serve basis. There was no one in front of me so I was ushered into the bay, told the service adviser what I wanted and the work began.

They are thorough about checking fluids, lights, and such. I had a brake light out and they offered to change it for me, but I refused (see below about pricing), and my air filter was shown to me in good condition. However, while the work was being done the sales pitches also began.

I was given a hard sales run down for everything from oil types, transmission services, fuel system cleanings, windshield wipers, tire rotation, radiator service to air conditioner services. As if the sales pitch wasn't bad enough, they run through the descriptions so fast it is difficult to keep track, and is likely confusing to those not familiar with auto services. Because I had already told the service adviser that all I wanted was an oil change and nothing more, the sales pitch was unnecessary, rude and unprofessional.

In addition to the above, the price for the oil change is twice what I normally pay at my regular service place. Given that, I would not have allowed Valvoline to do additional services even if I had needed or wanted them.

To be honest, I deserved to be disappointed with this visit. I had been to this Valvoline place previously. Several months ago I went in for an oil change because I was new to the area and didn't know where else to go. That visit went just as this latest one (sales pitch, etc.), yet the technician could not remove the oil pan plug to drain the oil, although he and others tried for about 20-minutes. Ultimately they stripped the bolt so that no one could get it out. The service adviser told me that the bolt was rounded when I arrived and they couldn't remove it (a lie to cover themselves!).

I then found out about Tuffy's, took the car there where they had to weld a piece onto the plug to remove it.

Bottom line: I found the Valvoline business to be outrageously priced and unprofessional (sales pitches), as well as dishonest (the oil drain plug lie). I will not be visiting them again.

I went in for an oil change. And, ended up needing a filter. I was told the price of the filter, but I was already there so I just went ahead with it. I wasn't happy with the price of the service but everything else was fabulous.

They are very convenient as they are nearby. They work on first come first serve basis. There are 2 bays and you just have to drive in. They have a place below from where they can work on your car. I would continue to go there in future.
