Urban Home Transformations

I entered into an agreement with Urban Home Transformations in August 2023. The following work was agreed upon prior to any start of construction. 1. The existing fence was to be removed from the property and the existing posts were to be removed entirely from the ground. 2. The new fence posts were to be set 36 inches deep with concrete. This specification was agreed upon, as it would exceed the City requirements. However, the existing posts were cut with the remaining post still in the ground. Only 4 posts were installed meeting the agreed requirement. Other posts were set at only 12 inches deep or less, which did not meet code requirements. The prescribed work was of poor quality and not completed in the agreed upon standard. I needed to hire another company to remove the posts and concrete. I contacted Urban Home Transformations requesting a partial refund for these costs. They stated that they would not give me a partial refund and not concerned about online feedback because they no longer have a business in Ohio and moved out of State. I would not recommend this contractor. Buyer beware!

Chris and team (Lonnie & AJ) did an incredible job! We reached out to them about a possible deck repair. However, after their input we decided to demo our old deck and have a new larger one built. We could not be happier! Their quote was reasonable, their workmanship was stellar, and they were spot on with their timeline for the project. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy with the deck. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family and hire them again!

I honestly cannot say enough about Chris and Judy. They are just incredible to work with. Chris came out and took a look at my deck, gave me suggestions and recommendations which were just right on target. He took his time looking things over and pointed out things that I wasn't even aware of. He filled me in on the current situation with supplies which I wasn't aware of and came up with a solution that not only was spot on but ended up being even better than I think we both anticipated. When "game day" finally came around Chris, Judy, and crew were just great. They arrived each morning and told me what they were going to do that day and got to it. They were professional and courteous and just a joy to work with. The end result, I have a deck that honestly looks 10x better than it originally did. I would have no hesitation at all recommending them or hiring them again.

Chris and Judy were absolutely amazing. The attention to detail, quality and just amazing service. Sometimes hiring contractors can be hit or miss but we feel we got exactly what we were looking for! I will honestly recommend them to anyone I know who needs painting done.

Very professional! My deck is about 18 yrs. old and I was worried I would have to replace it. Chris and Judy came out and said the deck was fine, just needed some minor repairs, cleaned and stained. The deck is beautiful! The project was within my budget and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Would definitely recommend for your next home improvement project.

I was originally looking for someone to paint my detached garage - simply that. What I found was a gold mine of talent, honesty, integrity and professionalism. Having recently taken a bad fall and now recuperating, mobility is an issue and found they took this in stride. By the time we had finished, they had PAINTED THE GARAGE, REPAIRED A FENCE ANOTHER HANDYMAN HAD LEFT INCOMPLETE, RESCREENED A SCREEN DOOR TO MY MUD ROOM, REPLACED LOCK SETS TO THE MUD ROOM DOOR, CLEARED A DRAIN THAT WAS FLOODING BY THE MUD ROOM AND AFFECTING THE WOODEN SCREEN DOOR, POWER WASHED MY PATIO (they power wash before they paint exterior surfaces, so we added the patio) AND THEN PAINTED THE 2 1/2 STORY, THREE LEVEL HOUSE TO MATCH THE GARAGE. Then, for better visibility of the gorgeous new house and garage colors, TRIMMED LOWER TREE BRANCHES. And don't be concerned about a "hard sell approach" - they might ask you about something, but not to add a task to the to-do list - just wondering if it was something you had thought about in a way that might influence something they ARE doing. The front of my house is mainly stone on the first level, and after the power wash, the stone looked better than the day I bought the house - I know - I checked photos! Since I am highly immobile, they took pictures of anything I could not see or see easily, and cleared everything with me via camera shots. Talent and ability are one thing, but integrity and honesty to me are just as important. Chris is the first person I have trusted to change locksets for me. I can do it, and always did to ensure no one had access to copy a key - with them, no such concerns. Judy and Chris make a great team! There are no wasted motions, they anticipate each other and yet both have their own unique strengths. Judy has the eye of a designer. The original color I selected for the garage was not what I wanted or thought it would be, based on the color swatch on the website. She showed me pictures of some of their previous work and there it was! - the perfect color. Time to pick the accent color for the doors and shutters - Judy to the rescue again. Folks driving down the street were giving them thumbs up gestures and neighbors complimenting the job - and the house didn't look that bad, it was just a drab white and stone house. MY HOUSE IS NOW THE STAND OUT ON THE BLOCK!! And Chis is a master carpenter in addition to his many other talents. The "repaired" screen door looks better than it ever did and you would never know a German shepherd went through a section of screening, trying to get to a rabbit! BTW - the rabbit won the race! I have more work for them to do, but it is all mainly inside, so I am holding off until the weather starts to worsen and they cannot do any further outside work (although there is a little yet to do outside, if I figure out how I want some landscaping done!) After several false starts to find service personnel outside of HomeAdvisor, I am so glad to have found these two! I tried to hire from a neighborhood based website and failed miserably. No vetting of personnel, no bonding, no insurance - not worth the risk. Chris and Judy pretty much do it all! Home Transformations is the perfect name for this company...the transformation they make is incredible and reflects your taste and yet reflects back on them for the work done which is why they give it their all - as Chris said, "If we are putting our name on it, we want it done right."

this experience with Chris & Judy was wonderful. It gave me confidence that there are people in construction that really care. They rehabbed my deck to a show piece and put a new fence up. Then they finished my basement which is incredible. They are now remodeling my laundry/mud room. If you want something done in your home you should have them do it. i forgot they painted my first floor and did a fantastic job with everything. They would show up on time and i felt like they were family. They were perfectionist which is great . I might have forgot something but i think you understand how pleased i have been. Jack K. Chris and Judy were great to work with and we were comfortable having them in our home. They did just what we asked them to do, in a timely and efficient manner and we would recommend them, for sure!

Judy did an excellent job painting an exterior door. She is very particular about doing the job right and not to take short cuts. She came back the next day to finish the door to assure the door had time to dry thoroughly before the next coat. I would highly recommend her for your next paint project.

Chris and Judy are fantastic to work with. Chris comes up with great ideas and always has a solution to any problem that arises. They work hard and get projects finished in a timely manner. They are more than fair in their fees and go the extra mile to make things as nice as possible for their customers. I absolutely love my screened in porch!

Chris and Judy removed old wallpaper from one of my walls. There was a big hole in the wall and it was repair perfectly! Then they painted the wall. I wanted an accent wall so Judy was able to pull some walls up on her phone to show me. I had never heard of them. So when Chris finished painting Judy did the faux part. It is BEAUTIFUL. It's at my front entrance so everyone who comes in compliments me on that wall. Not only was the work good but it was done on time, with very little mess and more importantly..... the price was fair. I have a list of things I plan to have Chris do for me.

Chris is very honest and a hard worker who does a great job for a fair price. Very personable and detail oriented and keeps his promises. One of the few who still works with pride and makes his customer feel like he is number one. My project turned out top-notch and exceeded my expectations. Chris is very willing to make sure his customer is happy and satisfied. I would hire again without hesitation and refer him to anyone I know.
