Urban Arborists sent certified arborist the morning following my initial email. He spent one-half hour answering our general questions and questions about the 4 mature trees that were causing problems. He gave useful advice on saving trees providing useful shade to property. We also hired UA to remove tree obstructing home improvement project. UA chipped the branches and left them to use as mulch.

they gave me best of three quotes I received, did a fantastic job (tree was 2 feet from garage and against a fence)

I have  had a good experience with them.    On responsivness, it was very good. On using them again, yes, I have even recommended them to some other folks.

This is the 4th time I have used this company, and, like before, Jon and Sean arrived on time, did a great job (with focus on Safety), and left my yard in great condition---as if the maple had never been there!

Just excellent. They came out to my house for free and walked my two acre property answering any questions I had and telling me what to look out for regarding the health of my trees or the likelihood of a given tree falling through my roof. They love trees. Three people in my office recommended them and they all went on about how they love trees. They do and they know their profession. They had to wait for good weather to do the work but they got it done quickly and efficiently. I am very pleased.

Excellent service, cleanup, and experience. Would use no one else for tree service. Highly recommend.

Sean from Urban Arborists was amazing! I can't say enough good things about my experience.
 I am very picky about my trees and called various arborists on this list only to find that I could only talk to an office manager and never the arborist who would actually performs the work on my trees. Sean was the exception to this. He was always available to answer my calls, he came out on a Saturday to walk the yard with me and was very knowledgeable. He understood my message about "less is more". The quote to trim my trees was very reasonable compared to other quotes on Angies list, he gave me notice in advance of coming out, and he did exactly what I asked for. I will definitely use him again. It was great. Thank you Sean / Urban Arborists!

It was great. I will never use anyone else again for any kind of tree services. Sean is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and skilled. He obviously has an artist's eye in terms of tree shape and configuration. He cleaned up all the clippings, branches, etc and took them away when he was finished.
He also gave us very good advice on how to deal with a magnolia that has some issues. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Their service is great! They are extremely knowlegable and passionate about trees. They came to look at the trees when I was at work, then called me and sent me a detailed email of what they proposed. I told them I would like them to show me exactly which branches, etc. they were going to remove. On the day the service was performed, they went over each tree with me and provided their suggestions. I commented that I thought the removal of one very large branch on the oak tree in the back yard would reduce the shade my dogs need there. Sean said he understood as he had a dog and said they could make it all work without removing that branch. When the leaves returned to the trees in the spring, I could truly see how well shaped they now are. Great job, great service, really nice guys!

Sean came out the same I called and gave an estimate. Work was done several weeks later as promised. They did a good job and cleaned up well after.

I called them at about 5PM on 6/3 and explained that I needed a tree stump removed so that my contractor could proceed with laying a concrete slab to be used for a patio. John said he could come out the next day (6/4) after 3PM and would bring his equipment that he thought he would need with him. He called me at 8:41AM on 6/4 and said he come right then so that he could beat the rain that was coming. He arrived at about 9:15 I explained what I wanted and I had to leave at 9:40 for a 10:00 appointment. When I returned he had completed the job exactly as I wanted. I will be calling them in the future as I have a tree that needs removing and I've already talked to them about it. Would I use them again, you bet. Would I recommend you use them you bet.

They did a really nice job. They used their best judgment on how much was needed to be trimmed on the trees and the trees looked great afterwards. I received a lot of nice comments from the neighbors. I chose to use them because they were close and they had an A rating. They were very professional. They cleaned up all the leaves and branches that they cut off. I do not know if their price is comparable.

They were excellent at their clean up. They assisted in making the correct selections of where and what to trim to maintain the integrity of the tree. I thought their pricing was very competitive. They are very professional and prompt. They know their trees.

We own a small home in Clintonville. Jon and Sean walked the property with us a few weeks ago, assessed the condition of our trees and landscaping, and prepared an estimate, recommending waiting till cool weather to do the work. They returned yesterday and did the pruning of a magnolia and other trees, removed a dead spruce and planted a new one, and planted additional ground cover for our front bank, in addition to mulching, preparing several arborvitas for winter snows, and tidying up the property generally. They were congenial to work with and extremely professional, and the work they did was excellent in all respects. We particularly valued their suggestions and advice about landscaping, and also the beautiful job of pruning our (treasured!) magnolia.

They were punctual, cordial, and did a great job. Did all they said they were going to do.

They were extremely professional, timely and knowledgeable. Came out to do an estimate about 2 hours after I called and completed the work the following morning. The work areas were left clean of debris and the dirt level. They also walked my property and gave some comments on future work they recommend including fall/winter pruning and discussed cost of replacing the fallen tree and type of replacement tree that would be good for the spot at a future point. The estimate was $80 less than the estimate from another Angie's List provider. In my view, tree services are shockingly expensive so when I say the price was an "A" rating that is within that understanding of industry pricing and not to be construed as being a budget company. One thing I especially appreciated was the thorough way they ground the stumps. I've had stumps ground by other companies over the years, including one earlier this year, and they've always left a pile of wood chips with strands of root just a few inches below that require a good bit of work to prep for re-planting grass. Urban Arborists ground the stump deeper and into a much finer powder, leaving it level with the surrounding earth. My dog went out later that afternoon and busily dug a hole about 2 feet in circumferance to plant her stuffed toys in the spot where the tree was removed and I was surprised to see how deep she managed make her hole and that it looked like regular dirt not wood-chips.

This is the Second time I have used Urban Arborists. As like the first time, the entire experience was Professional, Timely, and Personalized. Would wholeheartedly recommend them over the 'large' Tree Trimming companies as you deal directly with the owner!

Jon and Shawn arrived on-time for this tree trimming job in German Village. They were knowledgable and consultative, providing feedback on tree growth patterns and soil types that were affecting the landscaping. We walked the property discussing the needs of each area, and then they got to work. The job took 4.5 hours and included tree trimming, the stabilization of a old pine with bolts and cables, shrub pruning and clean-up. Jon went beyond scope to cut some deadwood out of a neighbors tree. The property was completely cleaned up after the job. I confidently recommend these guys - they are knowledgable, helpful and priced fairly.

The guys were 10 minutes early on a Sat. morning. After quick instructions they started working and finished in about 4 hours. That included the planting of the new birch whip, which was done very professionally, that is, by digging a hole at least 3 times the diameter of the pot and by backfilling with top soil and high quality planting material. They also provided a tutor (supporting stake) for the new tree. They cleaned up perfectly and basically the site was left as they found it, minus the tree. They also cut down a small honeylocust I asked them to cut down at the last minute.
