I've had hardwired alarm systems in the past, but absolutely love this alarm. It is portable so you can move it to different locations. I own rental units, so this is important by simply faxing a change of service address form. I use it at home, when I don't have it in a rental unit. The monitoring service is very, very responsive. The base unit is great. The detectors can be placed in separate units and up to 1000 meters away. Great system and great monitoring service.
