Discussed very old plywood under the shingles and decided after 50 years it needed to be replaced

We were having water damage on our drywall around our chimney. We had him come to look at the problem. He gave us two options to fix the problem. We decided to go with the less expensive option and had him chalk around the chimney and the flashing area. A couple of years later the problem had gotten worse. He promised us that he would check on our roof every year and would look over his work. I have called him for 2 solid months and have not heard anything from him. I have called and left messages on another number he gave us.
