I asked an interior decorator with many years of experience to select carpeting for my social room. Fred Katz recommended high quality carpet squares (24" X 24") that we could install ourselves. There was no downside. When specifically asked about the borders, I believe the response was that after a few uses of a vacuum cleaner, they could not be seen. I was very skeptical but went along with the decorator. We spend much time installing the squares; following the directions exactly. The squares are very obvious after four weeks and many cleanings. The store was apparently was sold. Someone new came and indicated that we did a good job but this type of carpeting would show the borders. (So does the manufacturer s web site.) I sent a letter to Mr. Katz and left two phone messages with no response. The letter offered an additional $800 to replace the carpet and install an equivalent broad-loom one. My complaint is that the carpet is not what was represented.

WE WERE REPLACING CARPET IN SOME AREAS OF THE HOUSE IN PREPARATION FOR SELLING IT. SELECTION, AND PURCHASE OF CARPET WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE. THEY PROVIDED GOOD SUGGESTIONS, AND PRICING SEEMED REASONABLE. INSTALLATION WAS ANOTHER STORY. THERE WERE CONSTANT COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE WORK, AND THE ESTIMATE FOR INSTALLATION. AT EACH STEP THEY DID NOT HAVE THE MATERIALS NEEDED TO COMPLETE INSTALLATION, AND HAD TO COME BACK ANOTHER DAY, ONE TIME LEAVING OUR MAIN STAIRCASE WITHOUT CARPET FOR TWO WEEKS. THEY ALSO MADE DISPARAGING COMMENTS ABOUT OUR SELECTION OF CARPET, AND SAID IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP SELL OUR HOME (BY THE WAY, WE SOLD OUR HOME ABOUT TWICE AS FAST AS OTHER HOMES IN THE AREA). THE POOR GRADES REFLECT MAINLY THE EXPERIENCE WITH THE INSTALLER, AND HIS WIFE. THE STORE EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. I WOULD ONLY USE THIS COMPANY IF THEY COULD GUARANTEE A QUALITY INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE.

COMPLETED A LARGE JOB WITH A SHORT TURNAROUND TIME. SALESMAN WAS PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY & HELPFUL. SOME MATERIALS WERE LEFT LYING AROUND, PAINT CHIPPED OFF WALLS. RESPONSIVENESS FROM STAFF ON FOLLOW-UP CALLS WAS NOT CONSISTENTLY GOOD BUT JOB WAS WELL DONE AND THEY CAME BACK TO CARPET AN AREA THAT HAD BEEN MISSED.

WE HAD THREE DIFFERENT INSTALLATION TEAMS. TIME WILL TELL HOW GOOD THEIR WORK WAS. SOME WERE FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL AND SOME FELL SHORT IN THAT AREA.

VERY POOR INSTALLATION. COULDNT OPEN 4 DOORS IN THE HOUSE BECAUSE OF THE CARPETING. HAD TO CALL IN ANOTHER COMPANY TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

WE TREATED VERY WELL INITIALLY & AT THE TIME THEY MEASURED FOR A QUOTE FOR THE MATERIAL WE CHOSE. PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE. TWO INSTALLERS APPEARED TO DO THE WORK. TWO MEN WERE VERY PLEASANT & PROVED TO BE VERY PROFESSIONAL. JOB TOOK 2 DAYS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

INSTALLED CARPET IN THE FAMILY ROOM AFTER THE JOB THEY LEFT CARPET SHAVINGS PLUS WHEN THEY TOOK OUT THE OLD CARPET THEY PUT A DENT AND SCRATCHED UP THE WALLS. WE CALLED TO SEE IF THEY COULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD US TO USE TOUCH UP PAINT.
