We had a wonderful experience with this company. In July of 2015 they tore out our old concrete double wide drive way. They did an excellent job of keeping my yard in good condition while tearing out the old. The new driveway has been in for 5 years now and it is as good as the day they put it in. No flaking as two others complained about. I was very diligent in watering or curing the concrete for the amount of time they recommended. During installation, a friend of ours was over. He is a contractor. He was so impressed with their old school attention to detail and methods, he hired them the next month to pour the basement floor and walls of the house he was building for his daughter. After Old Skool finished with our driveway, they started work on our daughter's double drive, removing asphalt and pouring her drive. Her driveway is also as good as the day it was poured. We went with Old Skool because our neighbor directly across the street from us, had used them 3 years earlier in 2012. I look at it every day and it shows no sign of spalding and is in great shape. They also poured the sidewalks leading from the driveway to the front porch at all three locations. At each home they added nice curves to fit the landscape. I would recommend Mike and his crew to anyone!

Just as the other review that gave them a F rating. Driveway was installed May 2016 and is now flaking and crumbling in spots. Said they were coming out to look at the driveway, never did. Was asked to send pictures of the crumbling and did, still no response. They give the big runaround, stay away from these folks!

They installed a new concrete driveway in May 2016. After two winters, many spots are crumbling and flaking. Called to have them come out and they never showed up. Now they are not returning phone calls. In my opinion, stay away from this company!
Response from Old Skool Construction
"[Member Name Removed], When you first contacted us, the weather was still cold, snowy and wet. Under these conditions, it is hard to evaluate any driveway. At the time you requested us to come out, our company was finishing a large commercial project with strict time constraints. We initially told you we would have the concrete supplier come and evaluate the concerns of your driveway but did not have an exact time frame. We have followed through with your request even though it may not have been within your time frame of us getting back with you. As the concrete supplier stated in the letter forwarded to you, the damage on your driveway is due to salt brine solution brought in from the road and due to the numerous freeze/thaw cycles we have had this winter, it has caused some scaling. It was also noted from the concrete company that this scaling was limited to the path which your cars drive on and was parked. In addition to these findings, the concrete supplier noted that the structural integrity of the concrete was intact. Regards, Old Skool Construction"

Overall, Old Skool did a very good job. There was one issue, but it was immediately addressed upon discovery, and the situation was remedied to my satisfaction.

Responded within 2-4 days and job was done within time frame discussed. They were the only company that bothered to look at settling of existing patio and made recommendations on addition to prevent water collecting near house. Pleased with how well exsposed aggregate matches old patio. Sport court ended up 4 feet smaller than planned as the crew had frame to close to water drain, but not sure we pointed out drain line when work begin (discussed during estimate). Still need to apply seal when weather drys, but trusting that will happen promptly.

Recently we had an automatic generator installed for my father because of his
illness. He needs to be on a breathing machine and oxygen 24/7. I was
recommended to use Old Skool Construction by Generac’s website. Because I live
in Texas and my father lives in Westerville, this was a chance I had to take. I am so
glad that we went with them for the install. They were unbelievable! During the
consult, we explained the issues of our sick father and they promised to make every
accommodation they could to make this an easy transition. They brought over a
portable generator and ran extension cords to all the things needed to keep my
father breathing and comfortable during the few hour power outage needed for the
install, and there was no additional charge for it! They did an outstanding job with
the install, and the price was very reasonable. Another thing that was impressive is
the fact that they are a “full turnkey” service. They did all the electric and plumbed
all the gas lines. They are also a factory trained technician for any of the warranty
work, and they can do the regular maintenance. They are definitely a one-stop
shop! About two weeks after they did the install, my father had lost power for a few
hours, and the generator came on within seconds and everything was working
like normal. Overall, I would definitely recommend Michael and his crew to anyone
not only needing a generator, but to anyone that needs a licensed electrician or
plumber.
