Northern Window & Door Inc.

We built a new, custom home and bought all of our Kolbe windows and doors from Northern Window & Doors. We had high hopes based on the helpful and productive meetings with Scott during the sales process. We moved into our home in September 2015. Unfortunately, our windows/doors do not function like the ones on the showroom floor. For three months we've been trying to resolve various operational and warranty issues through Northern. I appreciate the progress we've made; however, it's been very slow and some fixes still remain. I don't understand the delays. I believe it's reasonable to expect our doors to lock and our windows to tilt. I will update this review once all is resolved.
UPDATE JAN 2016: Almost all of the issues have now been resolved.

It went terrific. They had preped everything prior, so when the door went in, it was completely finished. Working with Katie was terrific and Dave Jones, the installer, was meticulously careful.

Their prices were slightly higher than what we could have paid from an online retailer. However, compared to the excellent service we received, this is one of the better deals I've found this year!
I have no reservations in contacting them for future work and would gladly recommend them.

We paid 50% when we signed the contract, with the balance paid the day the doors were installed. Ron said that the doors would be manufactured and delivered within 3 weeks. He also tentatively scheduled the installation, based on the anticipated delivery date from the manufacturer. Ron then called to let us know the doors had been delivered (true to his word, it only took 3 weeks), and said that the installer (Scott) could be out as scheduled, at 8:00 AM. Again, true to his word, the installer arrived promptly at 8:00 AM and got right to work. He removed the window valance and blinds very carefully, and had the new door panels, sliding doors, and sliding screens in place by 2:00. He meticulously cleaned up and was one by 3:30. The doors look beautiful and are well constructed. They are also high-efficiency, so we will get our tax credit. Scott also installed an additional bracket for our heavy valance (the decorator had failed to include a middle support) and he also fixed the blind's release mechanism, which had kept the blind from staying raised. There was no charge for the bracket or the window blind fix! Scott stayed busy the entire time, was very pleasant while here, was careful to protect our wood floor and to keep the area clean, and to show us how the enforced locks worked. We will definitely use Northern Window and Door again in the future, as I am certain we will eventually have to replace our all-wood windows! I gave a B on price only because I do not know what other companies charge for similar products- but since our doors were extra-tall, I think this added to our cost. We considered the tax break to be a deduction of the cost of the product. Since the job was so well done, the workers so professional, and everyone was so reliable, I think we got a very fair price.

They had the best price in town, and were very fast in receiving the product.
