About us

Dr. Harnish earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1984. He completed his residency in ophthalmology there in 1989. For over 20 years he has practiced in Westerville. Dr. Harnish is Board Certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology. He taught as a Clinical Associate Professor at The Ohio State Universityuntil 1995. He serves as a preceptor for The Ohio State University College of Optometry and the Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Ann’s Hospital. Dr. Harnish specializes in Infrafocal Vision Correction, however he evaluates patients for all issues including cataract surgery and refractive correction. He also preforms cosmetic eye surgery, surgical and laser procedures for glaucoma, diabetes and retinal problems. There are 4 doctors at this site. Surgery is performed at this location. Staff is very friendly and pleasant.  Dr. Harnish and staff were complete and thorough in their exam and in reporting out the results.  Options for continued monitoring  were fully explained and scheduled.  Dr. Harnesh also did my lasik back in 2000 and I still have wonderful vision..

When I described my reasons for wanting Lasik surgery after I expressed my frustration with astigmatic lenses.  They tested my eyes and said that I would be a candidate however they also went over the details of the pros and cons in a very unbiassed manor.  I had also looked into Intrafocal lenses but they are very expensive.  So, they told me about a new contact which combines a hard an soft lense and that has been great.  They are more expansive then regular lenses but they work great. They also took all the time with me that I needed. I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking for a thorough exam and an unbiased, patient review of the options.
