There is no specific doctor that we use. My dog loves to go in to see her doctors. They take care of the dog and I have been pleased. When we even drive past the veterinarian she wants to go in and say hi. I have had dogs all my life and they have never done that.
"I am sorry that the client feels this way. I believe there is medical misunderstanding regarding this case. 1. The cat's mouth was examined initially for any masses. The mass was in the larynx, not the mouth. The larynx of a cat you cannot see on a regular exam. It is much lower down in the throat. The cat was sedated for his IV because he was very aggressive and would bite. The sedation we used at the time of the IV was not heavy enough to see the larynx (that requires anesthesia, not sedation). We did not want to anesthetize him at that time because he was FIV positive and had a lung pattern consistent with pneumonia. Cats are very unstable when they have respiratory issues and anesthetizing them can sometimes be fatal. Thus, that is the last thing we want to do on an unhealthy cat the pneumonia. The patient was able to be anesthetized to visualize the airway later after rounds of antibiotics. 2. The X Rays were sent to a Board Certified Radiologist who did not see the mass. This is because there is no way to see a mass of this size (approx. 1/2 inch) in the cat's larynx. Soft tissue structures like this do not show up on X ray this way. They are too small and there are too many other overlying tissues (called silhouetting). 3. A laryngeal mass in a cat is an extremely rare diagnosis. In medicine, you need to investigate the most common conditions first. The standard of care in cases like this is to first do blood work and X Rays, ruling out the most common conditions. General anesthesia for a laryngeal exam in an aggressive cat would not be considered safe or warranted at the time of the initial exam. I have called the client to try to explain the more complicated aspects of this case. I asked him if there is anything that could be done to make him happy."
Columbus and were concerned about finding a Vet.
We have 2 dogs, one is 13 years old, who can;t see, has trouble hearing, and has hip issues. She was out biggest concern, so a battery of test were done, to make sure kidneys, thyroid, etc. were still all good.
Ends up we are doing Thyroid meds and pain for the hip. and have noticeable improvement to her activity.
Out younger dog, is in great shape but will schedule a teeth cleaning/pull soon.
Prior to arriving for my appointment, apparently there had been an emergency that required a lot of attention. The vet was about 50 minutes late in seeing my dogs, but after learning about the situation I wasn't concerned about the time. Thankfully, I didn't have to be anywhere right after the appointment. The fact that West Chester Veterinary Center also has emergency services available was a positive in my mind when looking for a new vet.
Dr. Regina Krendl was pleasant and thorough in her examinations. She listened to my concerns and questions then answered in terms I understood. She prepared a estimate for the costs of several recommended procedures. She also sat down to explain the various scenarios and costs. I appreciate WCVC's policy of sharing estimated costs in order to reduce and quot;sticker shockand quot; after the procedures are completed and I'm ready to pay. I can plan accordingly. Dr. Krendl personally called me hours later to explain a test result that wasn't ready when I left the center. Every person my dogs encountered at WCVC petted my dogs and talked to them in loving terms.
I will be returning to have dental work and a lumpectomy performed on my dogs. I will also board my dogs at the facility when I need to travel.
They are even open on Sunady for appointments.
Highly recommended.
Our Golden is very and quot;high energyand quot; and they were so patient and kind with Him.
I would recommend to any and all Pet owners.
I am very impressed with the level of attention and concern for Remi. The dog wasn't treated any less than I would expect for a human patient. Excellent care!
