West Chester Veterinary Care (WCVC) is a full-service hospital with a different perspective on animal care. WCVC embodies Dr. Amy's vision of providing the best experience a pet can have when visiting the vet. The facility was designed with the pet's comfort and health in mind - from the material on the floors to the acoustic pads on the ceiling. The office visits are scheduled for extended durations to allow ample time for the pet to adjust to the surroundings as well as to answer all the client's questions and explain recommendations. WCVC also offers "drop-off" appointments during which the pet may be left for the day to have exercise in the playroom and receive their physical examination and diagnostic tests as part of their stay. WCVC always keeps the animal's comfort in mind, whether they are boarding, at the hospital or stopping in for a weight check. Our veterinary hospital has a community feel, where the pets love to visit, and our clients are active participants in educated decision-making when it comes to the care of their pets.

All of the staff and Dr Hellard were very professional and courteous. They took the time to accurately assess her history, answer my questions. Costs were explained as options, and they were not pushy about getting certain tests done, which I liked. I switched vets because my previous vet was not taking the time to answer my questions or provide feedback on things I could do to make my dog better with her eye various issues. I am very happy with the switch and would recommend anyone to do the same.

Our dog was let out and walked several times per day and had regular playtime with other dogs. We received pictures of our dog every few days.

I was (and still am) blown away at the friendliness and helpfulness of the front office staff. Whether over the phone or in-person, they are always courteous and seem generally interested in the health and happiness of our dog. Dr Hellard is knowledgeable and very professional, and she approaches medical needs with the dog's best interest in mind, as well as our family's budget. We have also boarded our dog at WCVC and have been extremely happy each time. They often text pictures of our puppy and will call if any unforeseen circumstances arise.
Also, the facilities are clean and are pet-friendly/owner-friendly. We have been very satisfied with WCVC and would highly recommend them to anyone pet owner.

Dr. Hellard and her staff always provide excellent care to my dogs. They explain all procedures and give me an estimate before procedures are done so I'm aware of the costs ahead of time. I also appreciate getting a call the day after any procedures that are done to check on how my dog is doing.

Well, my dog was happy until he was too sick. Their euthanasia services were effective. We've had no problems with the vet care for our new dog. They are open about their prices and have not had a problem with us taking their recommendations but buying a product elsewhere.

That place is immaculate, it's very clean, the people are very knowledgeable and helpful and they took me on a full tour of the entire place. It's spotless and clean and it's a really great place. Each day I left my dog there they will be taken out 5 days. I got a little dog.

They've been my vets for a while. We kind of went back and forth because I thought their price was a little bit too high but the care was really good. Maybe it was worth it and I was being cheap. We returned our pet because he bit two people at the other vet and I wouldn't take him back there. I was too embarrassed. He had a muzzle on and he was still able to bite them. Their facility is top notch and they stock everything. They're really good, I just wish they were cheaper. They are an A+ facility if you can just get past the price. They do boarding as well. They have a playroom for the dogs and they even send you a diary for the dog to show you what the dog did while you were on vacation. It's really cute. When you drop them off to board, they give you a note to confirm the price range for the measures to be undertaken to save the dog in case of an emergency if they can't contact you. I think it's a good idea.

If a family member were to ask about them, I would say, "Send your pets there; they've been very good, very polite, very affable, and very easy to work with." I have plans to go back in about a month.

West Chester Veterinary Care WCVC's service turned out okay. I would say the price is an F, I was there for like 15 minutes and they didn't do anything so I paid them a hundred dollars for nothing. I'm grateful that they sent me to another vet, but I wish they would have just said that in the first place. They were responsive, they were pretty good at getting in the end. I don't know what I would give them on professionalism because I really think that if you're a professional about it, you wouldn't never even had me come in in the first place knowing you probably couldn't treat it. That's not how I would've handled it. I didn't think it was very professional.

"Thank you for this review. Your bunny was lethargic and anorexic so we urged you to come in as an emergency because this is a serious situation for bunnies. Emergencies are charged at a higher rate than scheduled appointments. We were able to get you in and seen immediately on that day (within 45 minutes of your call - you live 30 minutes away) and upon examination we determined your bunny would benefit from X-rays and may require surgery. When you opted to attempt medication instead, we referred you to a local exotic specialty practice since they had the medication your bunny needed at their facility. If we had compounded medication for your pet, we feared he wouldn't receive them in time. We felt it was in your and your pet's best interest based on our conversation to refer him immediately to another facility. I am sorry you felt this was unprofessional."

It was fine. Everything has been good. Weather it is routine care or anything else that has popped up. The care is great, the vet techs are great. We had one situation with an unexpected cost, they were very up front with costs which is helpful, even though it was quite a bit. Basically, everything over the last 6 years with our dog, everything has been wonderful. We have been happy with the care we have received. The cost is market value with other vets.

In February, my beloved dog Happy started to have heart failure and began retaining fluid in her lungs. Since it was after hours, I rushed her to the closest emergency care where they kept her for a couple days in an oxygen cage and did what they could. I took her home with the belief that she may or may not survive the next few days. I took her to see Dr. Amy Hellard for a second opinion a week later. I had the x-rays and information sent over to her office of what the emergency clinic had done. The odds were not in Happy?s favor. Dr. Hellard even found more problems ? problems that my previous primary for Happy did not. I was upset, emotional and strongly believed that I would lose Happy in a manner of days because she refused to eat and was very weak. Dr. Hellard went above and beyond for Happy. She reached out to a cardiologist she knew, sending along the x-rays of Happy?s heart and gave me hope. Happy is now on medication for life, recovered and living her life as a senior spoiled doggie should. Thank you Dr. Hellard. You saved my baby? and me.

WCVC has been the primary care provider for our 9 year old dog, Mia, for the past 6 years. Mia receives an annual exam and shots as needed. The staff is friendly, courteous, professional and very caring of Mia. We generally board Mia at WCVC several times during any given year. The boarding price is reasonable and they provide excellent care for her while we are away.
Both Dr. Amy and Dr. Jim are excellent veterinarians. They carefully explain the wellness care results and discuss any concerns they may have or that we may have.
I highly recommend WCVC!
