Sauter Landscaping

Mark Sauter and his team removed the old landscaping, including removing shrub roots, so quickly and thoroughly. Then they planted new plants, as per the plan we agreed on, again so quickly. Everything looks great. His plant recommendations took into consideration my needs and wants. Mark was able to start on my project about 2 weeks after I contacted him (fast!). The cost is very reasonable, and the plants have a one-year "warranty." I'll definitely have Mark come back in the Spring for more work I'd like to get done.

Mark did an excellent job on removing our old shrubs in front of our house and then putting in a new landscape. We like the plants he selected for the new landscape and the front looks beautiful. We were extremely satisfied with the work that was performed.

It went very well. Mark was great to work with and made a design that should be easier for us to maintain. I liked the fact he used some of our existing plants or stones in the design by moving them around where they worked better. He even found two stepping stones to match three we already had to improve a walkway. It was these extra steps he took that showed he really cared about our specific job.

Sauter Landscaping did a wonderful job at my home. I purchased my home about two years ago and my husband and I have struggled to try and manage the existing landscaping. We had lots of shrubs planted in the wrong places, creating an overgrown and unkept appearance for our yard, requiring constant attention. We hired Sauter Landscaping because we thought the owner, Mark, really understood our concerns and had a landscaping plan to address it all. Mark told us when he thought the job could be completed (weather permitting) and then worked hard to deliver. He did everything as promised in his plan. We are thrilled with the results, it looks like a new house! I will happily hire Sauter Landscaping in the future for all of our landscaping needs.

The work went very well

Over the last four years my husband and I both have had several surgeries, including my spinal surgeries, so absolutely nothing had been done to the outside of our house - not even the most basic maintenance. It looked like the Munsters lived here. Believe me when I tell you it was a nightmarish jungle like you see on those home renovation shows. I also need to say that we did not call Mr. Sauter. He was doing work for a neighbor across the street, and my husband stopped him and asked what he would charge to remove our diseased cherry trees. They made a deal right there on the curbside, and Mr. Sauter was back the following day and quickly removed the two trees. He returned that weekend to grind the stumps. Somewhere in that time frame we told him we wanted to discuss landscaping the front of the house, and he said he'd draw a plan up for us. He did say he was fairly booked, but he would get it done. I don't remember exactly how long afterwards - maybe a week? - he returned with a plan. I had initially told him I wanted very low maintenance, as I can't do the outside work that I once did. His plan fit that request perfectly. We agreed on the work, and within a few days I came home to find the front beds had been cleared. I was amazed. He explained that we would have a waiting period before he would put plants in, as he was applying weed killer on the exposed beds since it had been so heavily infested with every weed known to man. I was fine with that. Within a week or so Mr. Sauter had built a high retaining wall that ran from the south end of the house where the soil sharply drops away from the house foundation that snaked and curved to a single layer to the front door, and had placed the plants and mulched everything. It was beautiful. BUT - beyond all that, Mr. Sauter did several things he did not have to do, that I did not request, nor would anyone have the right to expect. Small things such as taking some extra dirt and filling a few small holes hole in my yard. He was conscientious about the work he did, leaving no detail overlooked. Every time he or any of his men were onsite, they were all respectful and courteous, and they always made sure everything was cleaned up before they left. We are so pleased with the new landscaping. We will absolutely be calling him to do more landscaping.

We called three landscapers to replace the horrible plants that our homebuilders put in as part of the landscaping package. Most of the original plants were too close to the house or just plain ugly. Mark came up with a good plan and was very attentive to our desire to put some color in the front. He was very skilled and knowledgeable about what needed to be done and kept us informed every step of the way. He was careful to do the work in stages so everything went in at the correct time since it was early autumn. He gave us plant and tree options that worked great that we had'nt even thought of. He did all the work himself and even gave us two small plants for free and planted a tree in back as part of the Angies List free tree deal. He put in a super high quality mulch that was better than the stuff we were using! Everything looks great and we will be using Mark in the future to do some work in the backyard.

This is our second landscaping project with Mark and his crew.  He did the work as promised, and the results were great.  We'd definitely use them again.

Mark was very easy to work with from the beginning to the end of the job.  He spent a lot of time planning our landscaping and reviewed everything with us to make sure it was what we wanted.  When he completed the job, everything looked great.
