"We really appreciate the great review and hope you enjoy your home for years to come!"
The initial subcontractor worked the first week of the project and the quality of work was terrible. The tile job in the shower was horrendous with the tile on the floor not much better. Light fixtures over the sinks were not centered properly and an outlet that was moved was installed to where the countertop covered the outlet to where we could not get a full cover plate on the outlet. When we pointed out all of the issues, the subcontractor quit the job. We met with the sales person and pointed out all the problems.
The second worker attempted to fix the tile job in the shower by removing some of the tile and re-grouting others which made the tile job worse. Some of the floor tiles had to be pulled up and re-installed. However, the grout for the floor tiles did not match. At this point we contacted a manager and requested the second worker not be allowed to continue.
These first two workers did very little to protect the carpet and furniture in the house, which became covered in plaster and debris. The garage where they cut a lot of items was seldom cleaned at the end of the day. They cut the bathroom tile in the front yard and left several cut pieces of tile in then grass, never cleaning the area.
A third subcontractor was sent to our house and corrected a lot of the issues with the electrical box installs. He had to stain the grout of the floor tile so it matched throughout the floor. Attempts at repairing the shoddy tile work in the shower were unsuccessful. We actually contacted our own tile company who came out and viewed the shower and stated the work was unacceptable to their standards.
We met again with the management of Craftsmen. The result of this meeting was that they stated the shower was as good as it could get and they would give us a gift card to a restaurant for our trouble. This was unacceptable and we decided to withhold the final payment for the job. About 10 minutes after the owners left, they returned to our house and offered to completely tear out then shower tile and replace it. We agreed to this plan.
A fourth subcontractor came to our house and completed the tear out and re-install of the shower tile in 5 days.
With the job complete, we anticipated a walk through of the job by Craftsmen management, but that walk through never occurred. One week after completion of the shower they charged our credit card for the balance of the job without our knowledge, never contacting us to schedule a final walk through or notifying us that they were putting the charge on our card. We found the charge when we viewed our monthly statement.
We were extremely disappointed in the quality of work performed and the time it took to complete the job. We would not hire this company again.
"Thank you for the great review. This was a very challenging time for us and for our clients with all of the storm damage. We were happy to help you through the claim and installation process."
