Lowe's

I definitely would not suggest that someone use Lowe's. It was just ridiculous how they had the estimate written up. Even when I went to the lumber company they looked at it and couldn't believe it. It was the worst experience I ever had. They were going to use roofing paper between the plywood and the hardwood. They had something called engineered flooring. I was thinking about it, but decided I would rather have hardwood. They were trying to sell me the stuff. The sales guy was great and honest. He was a young guy and I don't know if he was there for the summer, or what. The sales manager took over as far as discussing the flooring and stuff. Everything seemed to change at that moment -- even when she pointed out the contractor that she got. The guy has been doing it for years and all that. That's the one that wanted to use roofing paper on the floor. It was a lot more money; it was more than it was actually worth. The price was actually increased; it just did not feel right. This was just related to the flooring. I have bought appliances and stuff there with no problems.

The sales rep was great and got us extra discounts. The installation was smooth and the installation team was top notch. I checked 7 other stores including appliance only stores and other big box stores and Lowes could not be beat on price. The installer went out of his way to do it right and I highly recommend them.

The installation was done and the contractors did a good job with what they had to work with. Found out after two days when gate hinges bent that NO heavy duty hinges or latch was installed. Called and went to Lowe's and they did agree that the heavy duty hardware was included in the contract. Waited forever and hinges were replaced but not the latch (had to order). Waited and made two more trips to Lowe's. Always had an excuse. Bottom line, they never returned to replace latch. I finally gave up with these people. The contractors who put the gate in said this is a poor gate package and should be improved. Lowe's should know better than to sell something of this quality. I had Lowe's install flooring, carpet and the fence with no problem at all. Now I feel that I will never take the chance again with them if this is the way they handle an issue. I would not recommend them to my friends or family.
