"We were contacted 3/27/14 to go down to [member name removed] daughter's house and figure out what was wrong with her HVAC equipment. We sent a certified technician down to diagnose the problem. He found refrigerant leaking on the condenser and some burnt wires. We notified [member name removed] and made the corrections totaling $690.00, not to mention I was told that 2 other HVAC Companies were already there to work on the same unit prior to us being called and the equipment is mixed match. The Technician also wanted me, the owner, to look at the unit because it was not installed correctly. As the owner of the company I went down and the unit is not sized correctly or installed correctly. At that time we had installed a new thermostat also. I went down and checked the new stat to find that it was bad so I changed it again and that one was bad from the manufacturer so I put on a different style thermostat that was $211.00. Everything was working properly when I left. Five (5) months he calls and says that the electric bill had tripled the last 3 months and wanted me to pay for that. I informed him that I had only received a payment of $20.00 in June of 2014 and that was the only payment on the original call of fixing the leak. I told [member name removed] I would be glad to check it but it was kinda hard for me to do that knowing they hadn't paid the invoice for the first time we went out and it took him 5 months to contact me about the new problem. I informed [member name removed] that I was the last person there and no strips were coming on at that time and I had a 22 degree drop across the coil in cooling and a 18 degree rise in heating. After a long conversation I adjusted the bill. It was $690.00 for the first call and $211.00 for the thermostat which totaled $ 901.00. I adjusted the bill to be down to the original $690.00 and informed him we would come down when payment was received. I went down and got part numbers and ordered the parts and pressure switch, etc. Our supply company shipped the wrong part and by the time (approx. 4 days) we got the correct part [member name removed] had already changed the part and wanted me to pay for the new part I told him that I had already adjusted his bill immensely and we had the part to replace. I never charged him for any of the 4-5 service calls that we did except for the first original call. Bottom line is, had we been contacted in the beginning of the summer when the electric bills tripled this could have been resolved sooner. I believe his daughter did not keep anyone informed on what was going on because she owed us money. This has gone through the BBB and the case was closed."
