TruGreen Lawn Care - 5794

I fired them because they burnt up my front lawn. I had been using them for the past 4 years until last year. I think they combined with another company and I noticed a change. You should see my lawn. I have to do a lot of work on it myself this year. I fired them after the first application. Their price was okay. They were responsive. They came when they was supposed to. Their have been a lot of complaints. The man around the corner fired them too. One person came to do the work and they were done with in 15 minutes.

I use Trugreen to fertilize my lawn and spray for bugs. I have to look at what they've done and reduce a little bit because they get a little expensive towards the end. With all the services they've done for me, it's around $1200 and they've come, probably once a month to fertilize the lawn and also sprayed for bugs several times. They're good on response, they call ahead and they show up when they're supposed to. They do a good job. I just have to talk to them about price next year and probably reduce a couple of things because I have to watch the money a little bit.

In the early years, they did a good job. But for the past 5 or 6 years,
we have found them to be ineffective, of poor quality, and completely
unresponsive to our requests. The weeds are out of control in many areas
of the lawn and despite several calls to HQ, we never saw an
improvement. I also asked specifically for the yard care specialist to knock on the door when he came to provide service, so I could share my concerns; not surprisingly, he NEVER did. Also, we still have tons of grubs in the lawn and plenty of Japanese beetles come summer. In fact, our yard looks much worse than many of our neighbors who either DIY or use another service.
Yet TruGreen personnel found time to  continually
contact us by phone -- sometimes 7 times in a week -- to try to up-sell us some
additional product. This year, we are done with them. I am going to try
an organic lawn care company. At least if the organic methods don't kill
the weeds, we will know they aren't killing our pets, either.

Annual service; they do a good job; the lawn and tree techs do a good job of communicating with me and answering questions. They are both very friendly. You need to be clear with the number of applications that you want to have. They tend to "show up" way to often if you let them run the schedule.

They were good. Price was good. The quality of work was very good.

I would never recommend this company. I had a horrible time correcting a billing error and was told by the supervisor, who was cursing, that it would be done promptly. The marketing department promises services that the guys in the field know nothing about, then the customer is totally confused. When the notification of when the guys were coming, which was sent on a postcard, was eliminated, you never knew when they were coming. Sometimes you got a phone call from the automated "Trudy" and sometimes you didn't. Rescheduling was a hassle, just a total nightmare. We switched to a local company after having Trugreen for 3+ years.

We had lawn care service with another organization and that company sold the service and decided they were going to get out of lawn care and they sold the service to Trugreen. We had a number issues with them because we had them last year and actually we had used them before and we had some problems and then we decided this year to go to a new provider, so we sent them a note saying that we were cancelling for this year and that we had a new provider and mowing the hold. They still came and they did our lawn for the first application. We called them and we said we canceled. We already called them and they said okay. Then, the following day they came and they did the shrug treatment, which they also should not have done because we canceled it, so we had to call them again. Anyhow, we ended up telling them okay we will pay you for the lawn treatment okay because of whatever, but for second time we are not paying you because we canceled that service. We have not had good experience with Trugreen. The quality was okay.

We have a contract with them to come out and treat our lawn. Usually they were very prompt. But lately they have been mixing up the times when they were to come out  so they ended up doing two treatments which we don't feel we should have to pay for one. Then one time they came out to seed and got seeds all over our flower beds and now we have them growing up in the flower beds. We are working with them now to get it fixed. They are very responsive and I believe we will be able to get this all worked out just not real happy about it. We are going to give them one last chance to prove to us that they can give us are paying for.

They are prompt and do as good a job as anyone else. My problem with them is the continual calling attempting to upsell to more expensive services. I've used them in the past and always fired them over this. The final time, a bright young salesman came by and gave me his personal word that there would be no telemarketing.

This did not happen. When I complained and asked to speak to the telemarketer's supervisor, I was told 'he was too busy to come to the phone.' I will never hire this company again.

They are very good for treating your lawn. The good thing about them is that you get the same technician every time. He is very aware of your situations. They are very careful to let us know when it would be good for dogs to walk on the lawn, after the treatment. They know exactly what's going on with your lawn. I would use them in the future.

They do not try to oversell you. They offer specials if you sign up in advance for treatment.

Overall, I was not satisfied with the services of this company. When I first signed up for the services weeds had taken over my front lawn and the tree on my treelawn was covered with bumps that looked like small green peas. I told the lady when I signed up for the tree service that the only reason I wanted the tree service was to get rid of the bumps on the tree's leaves. She said they could get rid of the problem. They never did. Every time I spoke with someone about the tree, they told me something different (i.e., we can get rid of the bugs, it'll take a while to get rid of the bugs they have to break their cycle, we only treat the bottom part of the tree, those aren't bugs those are scars on the leaves). I'm paying all of this money for and quot;professionalsand quot; to know what they are doing and all I got was a bunch of different opinions. It didn't seem as if they knew what they were talking about. I still have the bumps on the tree. After speaking with a guy from my city's forestry department, he said the green pea looking bumps were made from the insects which has since left the leaves. He told me I was wasting my money having the tree treated. I immediately called Trugreen and cancelled my tree/shrub services.
As far as my lawn goes, at first they did a wonderful job getting rid of my weeds in my front lawn (they never got rid of a lot of weeds in my back lawn). However, in June, I spent much time and effort patching my lawn in various places. I called the company in advance, and told them I had patched my lawn and had baby grass growing in some places so they would not damage the new grass. The lady I spoke with told me it was good that I called in advance and told them because the chemical they were going to use could potentially harm the new grass. They came out and treated my front lawn and BURNED MY PATCHES OF BABY GRASS. After complaining, they came out and pured dirt over the burned patches and put seeds down. I stopped the lawn services. This is what I got for paying over $600. What a disappointment. I was going to have to pay for the last tree service application but after I explained to them why I was cancelling my lawn service, they gave me the last tree/shrub application free. They were nice people, but the $600 that I paid was not worth the services that I received.

Trugreen has fairly reasonable price and performs mostly satisfactory work.

However, their telemarketing practices to existing customers are unprofessional and unethical. After ignoring 4-5 repeated calls per week, for several weeks, to my cellphone, I finally took one of their calls. The telemarketer comes on the line and says and quot;we have scheduled your grub treatment for next week.and quot; However, after 5-10 minutes on the phone, the telemarketer admits that this treatment is NOT part of our scheduled treatments that we have agreed to. Additionally, the price for this grub treatment is TWICE as much as the regular treatments. I have to say NO three times in three different ways to get the guy off the phone. If I get one more such solicitation call from them, I'm cancelling my service.

Bottom line, you will bombarded by telemarketing calls AFTER you become a customer. Beware!

Other problems-- you never know when they are coming -- they don't tell you in advance. The weed treatment in the spring does not nearly kill all the dandelions and other broadleaf weeds.

We spent around $160 or $180 for that service. They were on time, punctual and they seemed to do a very good job. They explained everything to me and everything. I would recommend their promptness, courtesy, and thoroughness.

They are pretty consistent in using the same technician so he is aware of our lawn and our situation. He is very good about giving us helpful hints and things like that. They set up the appointments for what day they are coming, not what time.

They are always prompt. They use fertilizers and pesticides on my big yard. They don’t mow or trim. They just do the chemical end of the thing and they do what they agree to do. Sometimes they call and offer additional services too. I give them a contract every spring. Sometimes I pay them annually. They do a pretty good job. I have no complaints about them.

We made an appointment, but they never showed. When I called them to find out why, the man said he spoke with my husband and had rescheduled. My husband has passed away, and there is not a man living the house. I canceled my service with them and have since found another company.

They do it about four times a year. They are local and do what they advertise. They work pretty quickly with their motorized spreader. I think they are not promoting themselves well. They left a big container of sod on my front porch the other day. One thing that is annoying about them is that if we sign up for some treatment they would bug us to get another treatment done for something else. They are pushy and I don’t like that.

They send out the same technician consistently all the time and we have got to know him. We can ask any questions to him because we feel free. They also make contracts for bush and the shrub treatment. We made that contract once but we didn't find it very helpful. There is no set time and they come when ever they want. They leave a sign when they come out for us as we shouldn't move around or things like that. They also leave a note to us as what they did and what the owner has to do as follow up treatment.

They are very thorough, punctual and prompt. They don’t mow the lawn. They weed and feed it. They aerate it at the end of the year. Wendy is the name of the service representative who comes here. She is very personable and very helpful. She explains everything and answers any questions I might have. They come in, do the work and leave. I don’t have to worry about them leaving the gate open and things like that. I pay them upfront at the beginning of the year and I don’t have to worry about it.

They really know what they are doing. I had an area with a bald spot in the back yard, and they were able to resolve the issue. Their prices are competitive and the quality of their work is first rate. We had trouble previously with their responsiveness, but this time they were quite responsive. They do a good job, and I would use them again.

I have a seasonal contract with them for 6 applications. I have used them for 20 years. I guess that speaks for itself. They seem to do a pretty decent job. They are convenient, so I have no reason to leave them. I don't know what other people charge, but they are not losing money for sure. I don't very often have to call them except when I have to renew every year and it sure works alright. They always time a promo line and other things which I never take as I put it down myself. Sometimes I have to call the manager and she does a nice job. They just come and I don't worry about it. I expect to continue to use them.
