As new members of Angie's List we wanted to submit a review of Beau Townsend Ford.
We have been satisfied customers for over 15 years. We've purchased 2
new and one used vehicle from them. In this time period we've had all
of our service done by BT. In addition to having NO complaints, they
have always gone above and beyond for us. They get the work done in a
timely fashion and get it right the first time. Everyone we've come
in contact with has been fair, friendly, compassionate and
professional. They treat us like family. Bobbie Sparks was the
Service Rep who took care of our needs for many years. Now that he
has moved on to Service Manager, Mike Taylor takes care of us. Ron
Burton handled our last purchase, the process was fast and pleasant.
We would never consider going anywhere else to purchase or service our vehicles.

This really started in 2013 when I was returning from a trip in my 2004 Ford Escape.  It suddenly started accelerating on its own.  I thought about turning it off, but instead put into neutral.  Turned out to be the right thing to do.  The computer shut it down the acceleration.  I pulled off the highway, shut it off, restarted it and it was fine.  When I got home, I took it to another (cheaper) mechanic who said there had been a recall on this problem and that it was a bad cable.   They fixed it and for a couple of years it seemed to be fine.   Then, earlier in January 2015  my  Escape (which I bought from Beau Townsend) accelerated out of control again.   This time, when I put it into neutral it immediately revved up to 6500 rpm.  This is an rpm that will destroy an engine if it is allowed to continue (without a load) for more than a minute or two.  I was able to apply enough pressure on the brakes to pull it off the road quickly and shut it off.  I turned it back on two or three times to see if it would reset and each time it immediately revved up to 6500 rpm.  Eventually a good Samaritan stopped by, raised the hood and was able to jiggle something lose and the Escape quit accelerating.  I drove it to Beau Townsend.  They told me it had not been subject to a recall (that was a lie - I checked with Ford Inc.) and since it wasn't accelerating right in front of them, there was nothing they could do.  I stewed about this for a day or two, reconfirmed that it had been subject to a recall about unintentional acceleration (two, in fact, because the first fix didn't work out) and went back to Beau Townsend.  
I told them I would pay to have them go over the engine and guarantee that there was nothing wrong with it that would cause it accelerate out of control again.  They said they couldn't do that.. There were just too many things that could cause that car to accelerate out of control!   The guy listed about six. My advice: never buy a Ford and never buy any vehicle from Beau Townsend.

Went well but very expensive

I got a flat tire on the interstate. While my husband was changing it, I immediately made a call to the dealership's service department who told me to bring it on in even though it was late in the afternoon. We brought it in and fortunately it was able to be patched and we waited on it in the lobby. I have purchased all my new vehicles there and have had all my vehicle service done at the dealership. Customer service is top notch and I have never had an issue with them.

Everything went great.

It was an excellent experience. They cleaned my car as well later. I did not ask them to fix the air vent but when they cleaned the vehicle then they saw it and fixed it.
