MDH Property Care

I found the contact information for MDH as I was looking for someone to remove a downed tree from my backyard that had come down after a night of high winds and wet snow and ice buildup. I was pleasantly surprised to get a live person on the phone as I made calls to companies in my area. Mike accommodated me according to my schedule and was prompt in stopping by to access the damage and give me an estimate. He explained what they would do to remove the tree from my yard. He has a good knowledge of botany, and also addressed my concerns about other trees in my property - to my satisfaction. Once I decided to hire him for his services, he was once again prompt with his scheduling, and was able to remove the tree and clean up the debris within a day as promised. He gave me a good estimate, and he performed the work professionally to my satisfaction. I recommend MDH Property Care for their services, and I will be looking to them for some of the many services that they provide in the future.

They ran though the yard.  Waiting for mulch and the front bushes to be replaced as agreed.  The yard looks good once mowed.

I found Mike on Angie's List.  My husband and I own rental property in Ohio but live miles away in another state.  I called him for lawn services and as I needed assistance with other areas, he was obliged to help.  He answered his phone when I called, ( which was an immediate plus on my end.)  He serviced my lawn bi-monthly and his rates are very fair.  He noticed our backed door was kicked in and a broken window in the basement. It went GREAT.  From the time of my first call requesting an estimate until completion of this big job, Mike (the owner) was always there for me on the phone, did exactly what he said he would, and got this monster job done despite several rain delays.  He was careful to be sure exactly what plant material and trash I wanted removed and what to leave in place.  He was very knowledgeable about what the plants were, which ones should be removed, and which should stay for my landscaping purposes.
Even though weather conditions prevented him from doing the whole job at one time, he was great about keeping me informed of when he could return, and did so exactly when he said he would.  He would work late into the evening to get this project done.  He is one heck of a hard worker!  
He is very professional, polite, helpful, and best of all, he really KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING.  I'm VERY pleased with his work and will use his services again next year after my property is re-graded and ready for some landscaping.  He's a very personable young man and I enjoyed working with him.

He is excellent.  Whenever I need him to come out, he is able to work me in in the next 1-2 days. He is always very prompt.  I would highly recommend him.

Owner, Mike Hymes, had been mowing my lawn for approximately 2 years now, and had done a fairly decent job, until recently when he stopped showing up and/or contacting me regarding mowing my lawn nor giving me any explanation as to why my lawn was not being mowed.  Finally contacted Mike in the 3rd week of July (2011) to ask why my lawn was being left to grow uncontrolled.  He informed me that he had suffered a back injury and was no longer able to perform the duties.  I was never informed of this prior to my contacting Mr. Hymes, during the 3+ weeks of absence, and was left to believe he would be either taking care of the lawn or finding someone else to handle his duties (had he been on vacation, etc...), or informing me of the situation so that I may seek someone else to mow the lawn during his "down" period.  None of those things were done.  However, once I contacted him via telephone and he explained the situation to me, he guaranteed me that either he or someone else would come and mow the lawn.  A few days later, a lawn service showed up at my place under-equipped for the job, very carelessly mowed approximately a third of my lawn, did none of the trim or clean-up...complained of the job and just left the lawn as-is.  Once I called Owner Mike Hymes to explain the situation, he informed me that the lawn service had reported to MDH Property Care that the job was completed in satisfactory fashion.  I informed Mr. Hymes that I would not be paying for the partial service his fill-in performed.  I informed Mr. Hymes that if there was any reason he felt he could not handle getting the job done to please let me know so that I can get someone else to do it..plain and simple.  Mr. Hymes told me to not get anyone else, that he would see to it that the job got done and done well. This conversation took place a month ago and I have not heard from Mr. Hymes ever since.  Needless to say he is no longer interested in the work and cannot, for some reason, find the resources to inform me of his decision...all to my detriment as I sat here and waited and waited for him to do what he said he would do, even though I asked him to inform me if he could not get the work done.  And he has not lifted one finger to show up as promised, or to call me and tell me he no longer wants the work when I clearly asked him to simply inform me.
