Fireplace Service
I called Bauer Stoves in March 2007. The owner, Don Bauer, said that the hearth is under warranty and will likely need replacing, but that owners of the company that produced the hearth were out at a trade show. Don said that he would check with American Panel and then give us a call back. Weeks went by and Bauer Stoves had yet to call us back. We called again on May 22nd but this time we were told American Panel was on vacation. Another two weeks went by and still no word. We had no recourse but to file with the Better Business Bureau (Case #70030772) to get this resolved. After the BBB got involved, we were finally contacted by Bauer Stoves. But the owner was not willing to deliver the new hearth pad. This forced us to remove the 400+ pound woodstove and its chimney, lift the 150+ pound hearth pad, and to borrow a truck to exchange for a new one. This is not my idea of customer service. With another minor issue we have had, I would not recommend Bauer Stoves & Fireplaces.
