I knew something was wrong when he asked for 1/2 up front because he had no money to get metal for the job. I asked him why he had a big shop but no metal in it. He says he has only been open 2 months......again I ask "why do you not have metal , you have been open 2 months"
The 3 day job turned out to be 3 weeks . So what...I didn't really need it. (second car)
So I get the phone call. "oh it's going to take longer, there is more welding than I thought" "but I am not going to charge you anymore" That's great I thought cuz u ain't getting anymore.
When I went to pick it up we walked by some scrap and he pulled out a piece to show me what he did the job with. I looked....it was body metal...I thought to myself...no way in the world did he weld this car frame with body metal instead of plate.
The car was outside so I said "let's pull it in and put it up on the hoist , "I want to see it" "oh I don't have a hoist, I put it on jack stands when I did it".. I couldn't believe he layed on his back and welded that car. So now there is no way to see the work done.
I pay him to get out of there...just as I go to get in...."oh by the way" " I welded threw the floor and the back seat caught on fire" " But you can get a good vinyl guy to fix that for you " " WHAT !!!! " ...sure enough there was a big black burn mark.
Just let me outta here.....oh look at that....it needs a boost.
Need some welding done.....don't go to Rays in Toronto
