It costs me $400 a year, and it covers all of your lines, like your water, electric, gas, your sewer, your appliances like water heater, washer, dryer, freezer, and if something goes wrong, they send somebody out. It is more of a service contract. I live in an old house, so I always get my years worth. One year, the pump went out on the washing machine, and a part went out on a boiler, so I am sure it was over $1000. I have the service now and will get it for next year too. The price stands out, because I have a boiler, and if you could pay $15 or $20 a month for a big furnace repair, where someone can come out and pay for it, it is a good deal. You get it through Columbia Gas, but the gas company isn't part of it. The gas company recommended it, and it came in my bill, so I signed up for it. Maybe it is something they recommend, because I have a friend who is not in the Columbia Gas area, and she has it. When you have a problem, you call ESP, and they have a list of people that they send out. You can ask for somebody, but if you don't, they will send somebody. A business can join them, but they have to give paper work to join, as E.S.P. will not just add anybody they can't trust. You don't have to get everything. You can get appliances, or you can get furnace and air conditioner, but I get everything because it is cheaper. Before my mom passed away, I went to her house where we were having a problem with the kitchen stove, and they came out and replaced all gas lines. Then we had a problem with the line to the main street, and they came and replaced all the lines, so that year, she got her years worth. They have always come out and fixed my stuff. If I called now, there is still time today for them to send somebody out. I think the price is a good deal. They have hundreds of people, so they always find somebody to come out, it is not like you call one company, and they say they can't come out until Monday. They keep calling until they find somebody. The people they have sent out have all been professional.
