The television service of Fioptics is not as good as satellite providers.

When I enter a new channel number to change channels, the TV just freezes on a gray screen; then I have to hit channel up and then down for the channel to come in with a picture. Most of the time when I try to watch a recorded show from the DVR, the screen freezes on the current channel and the recorded show starts anywhere from 1-10 minutes later. Or the start of the recorded show is garbled, and once it starts playing ungarbled (around 5-10 minutes into the show) I have to rewind it to the beginning and it will start showing the recording with no issues. Recordings start and stop intermittently, so I'll end up with only a partial show recorded. The on-demand selection is pitiful - much fewer shows and episodes of shows than Time Warner. I switched from Time Warner to Fioptics because the price would be cheaper and I could record 3 shows at a time rather than just 2 at TWC. Unfortunately, my cost is now higher than it would be with TWC, and at least the channel changing and DVR recordings on my TWC system worked correctly.

Tech was quick to help and listened to my issue and went straight into resolution rather than reading from a script as so many tech support folks do. Was resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.

Price jumped on first bill from what i was told on sales call. In addition I was told that since i didn't use their modem for my calling service, I would get $5 off; didn't happen. Service people were pleasant and knowledgeable. When I watched a taped show and deleted it. it should have gone back to regular programming. It didn't. There would be a blank screen, and I would have to restart the whole system.Internet would be in and out Over the past few months that has stabilized to a degree. There is supposed to be enough bandwidth to supply four TV's and my 10mb internet that I requested. There isn't. The TV screen will freeze for a few seconds and then continue. And if you want to know what is taping that evening, there is no "To Do" screen. The only thing you can do is use the channel guide and go through all the channels to see what is taping. Not a very good system. Even after the boxes were changed out; nothing changed.

The quality of the reception is excellent, but it is too spotty. Periodic loss of service and frozen image are too frequent. The service has improved from its inception, but there are still too many interruptions.

I feel like customer service could have done this over the phone. They have a lot of foreign speaking people that you cannot understand. I am not prejudiced they need more clear English. They have heavy accents and so much that it is hard to communicate. I know a lot of them are very smart but there is a language barrier. They also offered whole home DVR which they did not get and are being charged for it.

The Install took 3 hours was told it could take up to 5 hours their Installer took the extra time to answer all questions i had showed me how to use the controller. Salesman was great told me all the expectations from start to finish even called me while the install was going on and asked if i could call after install was finishes to make sure i was happy with everything his number is (513)746-1182 if anyone wants this service the HD Channels are way better with Cincinnati Bell Fioptics then i had with Time Warner or Directv.
