We received the name and contact information for this company from the management company and a neighbor in our condominium development. After contacting them, they responded within 12 hours, discussed what we wanted done, and set up a time to meet and give an estimate. This company is a husband and wife team, where Bret Cullison does the carpentry and Heather does the client contact, etc. Before our scheduled meeting, Bret stopped by our condo to take measurements, etc., in order to prepare the estimate. He also looked at other similar units and their handrails in the development for ideas, etc. Heather showed up for the appointment prompt and ready to go. She went over the written estimate and details, and even called Bret on the phone when we had a question. The estimate was written out in precise detail, down to how many boxes of screws and bags of concrete would be needed! Since we live in a condominium community, any outside work has to be submitted to the Association Board for approval before the work can be done. Heather even brought the required form we needed to complete and offered to take it to the Association Board for us! We agreed to the estimate, signed the paperwork, and things were off and running! Because of the amount of steps we have, a City Work Permit was not needed, nor did any Codes have to be followed, but Bret knew this rail would need to support a handicapped person, so he used 4x4 vertical posts and for the railing, he used 2x6.
Because of the weather, Bret wasn't able to start exactly when he wanted, but Heather kept us informed and he did start as soon as the weather permitted. Working nonstop and with great care, Bret dug the footer holes, added the concrete, leveled everything, then roped the area off to be sure things remained safe while it set up. The next day, Bret completed the project and even came back to sand down some rough spots. He had us inspect the stair rails to be sure we were happy. He cleaned up the area/sidewalk and steps, and we didn't even have to sweep up dirt or sawdust.
The stair rail is so sturdy (believe me, it's not going anywhere!), looks so nice, and the professionalism and care shown by this company is above and beyond. We have already referred them to others in the development, to our Condo Board, and the management company. We won't hesitate to contact them again...in a heartbeat...for any additional work we might need done, both inside and outside!
