REMBRANDT HOMES INC

I'm not even sure where to begin. We were very nervous about building a new home. Everybody we spoke with that has built with other builders had horror stories. I knew after my first call to their sales rep., Geoff, that they were different. Before we even knew for sure that we were going to build, Geoff still treated us like we were already customers. The one thing I really remember him saying is that "we are not going to be the lowest cost builder, but we will build the best home". I am so glad we did not choose to try to find the cheapest builder out there. I can really see that you get what you pay for. THE SALES PROCESS: Throughout the entire sales/contract process, Geoff was very clear on things and always up front and honest. If we needed to save a little here or there he would help us figure out how to save without compromising the design or quality of the home. His input was wonderful and his attention to detail was great. THE BUILDING PROCESS: A lot of the actual construction stuff is technical stuff, but I have to chime in about how the character of Rembrandt's owner, Steve, came through during this process. I talked to a friend of mine, a long time trim carpenter, that said what Steve did here was NOT typical in the building industry... which is why they are so good.... when we went over budget on something, we were told ahead of time it would be over and after our approval, we were sent a very detailed invoice as to why it was more. Here's the part that is DIFFERENT - when we were under on something, we received the credit as well. For instance, our septic system came in exactly $5.00 less than what they quoted. We got a $5.00 credit! I could not believe it. I really didn't care about the $5.00, but the honesty is truly respectable! Our windows were also $70 less than quoted so we got that too. Additionally, they use the same sub-contractors for all their jobs. There's not 4 different paint crews... it is just one, trusted crew. The subs we interacted with reflected Rembrandt's professionalism as well. Another thing about the build is that the budgets were realistic. We didn't get these puny budgets that wouldn't even buy stuff at a flea market. This kept the budget very realistic. THE ACCOUNTING PROCESS: Organized accounting reduces stress, that's all there is to it. The office manager, Andrea, isn't only one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, but she excels at her job. I never wondered what was what because she made everything idiot-proof! Thank you Andrea for doing such a great job. THE DESIGN PROCESS: My favorite part to rave about. Our home wasn't a million dollars, but it looks that way. Thank John, at Rembrandt, for that. Their designer, John Mizener, has crazy talent and an eye for design. Our house could have looked like every other house very easily, but it doesn't. And it is because of John's ideas and vision. He introduced many, many ideas that we never would have thought of on our own. He is opinionated, with reason, which I like. If I picked something ugly he not only told me how ugly it is, but why :) John made our house a custom home. His strong ideas were right up our alley and the end product is not what we wanted - it is WAY more than we wanted or imagined. I personally called him to thank him after this process, because I felt he was so valuable to the process. He is a delight to work with. THE CONCLUSION: I would recommend Rembrandt Homes to anybody that would listen to me. The house is of the highest quality, I know they will always stand behind their work and it's simply stunning to look at. Thank you Rembrandt Homes for giving us our "Dream Home" and then some!! You guys were an absolute pleasure to work with.
