The vinyl was laid and just about done and the installers were finishing up.  They ask for the balance so I gave them a check for $420.00.  I also felt sorry for them since they had worked past dinner time, so I gave each of the men an additional $20.00 tip.  After they had their tools loaded and my check in their packets they informed me that the transition strips to finish my job were in their other truck and they would be back Monday to finish up - I also arrange to have a small repair to some vinyl in my foyer that Dawsons had laid a couple of years ago (different sales person and different installer).  We paid $60.00 for this repair work.
The installer returned Monday and did the small repair, but never finished the vinyl installation by adding the transition strips to the doorways.  He also left the metal transition strip off the foyer repair job and left the edge of the carpet hanging off.  Very dangerous raw edges of vinyl at every doorway.  He said he would be back to finish because he had to order different transition strips.
I repeatedly called and was told 'tomorrow'.   But he never returned.  He continually lied and said he was coming tomorrow, but never showed or called.   I finally confronted Dale at his store and he claimed to not know the job was never finished, but said he would take care of it, and make things 'right'.   It is now December 25.  There are STILL no transitions in my doorways.  My last contace was on December 18 when I left a voicemail message on Dale's, but he has never returned a call.
I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint.  I will be rating Dawsons, and Dale Provence on Yelp and any other means I can find to let people know they are not to be trusted. 
I will be having the transitions finished by another installer from a different business and try to collect that from Dawsons.

I purchased 3/23/15.  He told me it would take a few weeks to get it.  He wanted paid up front.  I asked about warranty.  He said it was guaranteed for at least 10 years.  When he came out to measure, he gave the cost of $1302.00.  I wrote a check for the full amount. He gave me the receipt, it did not include the weight or the guarantee. He mailed a piece of paper that he scribbled on and said the carpet company has the warranty.  I told him I want a guarantee from him.  He said, 'I will get you a guarantee' and he never did.  He said when the guys came out to install, they'll bring it with him.  The guys said he didn't order enough carpet when they came out to install.  I took the sample out to compare to what we got.  The installer said it wasn't the same.  The carpet they were putting in is 30oz. when we paid for a 76 oz. carpet.  They took it back.  The installer has his own business and was working on the side to install for Dawson's because his business was slow.  I called Dale back myself the same day and asked for a refund.  I told him you ordered the wrong carpet, wrong type, etc.  He said 'I can't refund it, I have no money - I'm broke.' I told him I'll let you go until Friday, if I don't hear from you - I'll take you to court.  He then promised to pay $200 every 2 weeks back to me until I get paid back.  He insisted on mailing the check.  The next week, I called because I hadn't got the check yet.  He said 'I haven't mailed  it yet.'  I still haven't received any money.  He acts like he doesn't care.
